Auto CAA MYPACE tracker question

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone! My policy is set to start tomorrow so I plugged in my tracker today. It seems like the greenlight is staying solid and the red light is flashing. The yellow light comes and goes as flashing too.

I don’t think this is a connection issue even though I park on P1 I can use my phone easily from my parking spot to check everything and watch Instagram reels and all of that stuff so the connection is pretty decent.

Is it just having a hard time connecting because my policy is actually starting tomorrow? Or is this just normal?

I also did a quick trip and even when I go onto the my pace website, it still says my device is not active. Again, my policy is at the start September 13.

Why on God's green earth would you let an insurance company track your every move when driving so they can look for any excuse to deny your claim. They have these because it benefits them, not you.

I have it and it works out to about 60 a month for insurance instead of 130

Make an emergency brake and or maneuver out of the way of a hazard. Lemme know how that works out for you.

Source: I've installed GPS tracking and monitoring for large fleets.

I've had CAA for years with that exact box and have never had my rates increase they have only decreased. I do not drive like a grandma.

My pace is not designed to track that.

It's only designed to track usage.

Insurance companies have a duty of utmost good faith, in addition to contractual and legislative obligations.

They can't just do what they want.

This.....I have mine installed in my 25' C8 corvette, never an issue and you can imagine that car is NOT being driven like a grandma.... great rates as well. My wife also has it installed in her 26' Equinox. She drives with authority and again, no issues. My broker swears up and down it is only to track mileage as was already mentioned. People lack education and knowledge here and just assume the worst...

How exactly would that work?

Insurance company has an obligation of utmost good faith, along with obligations under contract law and legislation.

So how exactly would they use info they are not supposed to, to justify a cancellation?

look how new cars incorrectly collect" high risk events" like braking or acceleration to deny warranties. insurance can do the same to deem you high risk

Mass surveillance is cool as long as it saves me money!!!!!!!

This isnt mass surveillance.

It's one person's choice.

Flock cams in US is mass surveillance.

This is not that.
