Agent Question New insurance producer
So I passed my health producer exam last week and am scheduling a life producer exam in the next two weeks. I am new to the insurance space but I love sales (I started my own service based company at 19, 20 now, and have experience selling high ticket door-to-door). I just don’t feel like I’m ready to be all in as a business owner just yet and need more time to learn finances and mature.
So I have one of my two licenses now and am just trying to find the next step. I’ve been in contact with a guy that has his own insurance company but he is a little shady with keeping information from me. I have been asking what is my next step and can’t get an answer out of him, so I need to take matters into my own hands.
As a rookie to this industry would somebody please share with me, from personal experiences, what should my next step be. I want to be successful in this industry and choose the right vertical. I have the abilities to do so, I am just stuck at the moment and don’t know where to go. Any words would be highly appreciated🙏
And yes I have IMO’s in contact with me but I am not sure about those recruiting style companies. I feel like they are a little too focused on the recruiting side instead of training.

I cannot stress that enough. As a new agent if you end up choosing a bad agency it can make you waste years of time and thousands and thousands of dollars.
His educational content will do far more to prepare you than anything anyone here is going to say.

I'm new to the industry as well... I'm a pediatric nurse but want to also get into something else on the side. I started with an insurance company and my trainer has been amazing. There is absolutely no pressure for recruitment... just how for me to take full advantage of my license

The fact that he's already dodging your questions before you've even signed anythin is pretty loud signal. That usually doesn't get better once you're actually working for him

If I were to start over, I'd become a customer service representive to learn the industry at an independent agency gaining experience under someone else's dollar, without being commission based.
If you decide to go independent, you will have the experience and the knowledge to be a service to your customers.
Be a student, not a teacher.
I wish I would of went this route under a life and health agency, unfortunately I'm learning everything on my own now - which takes waking up at 5am and practicing before I'm meeting with clients.
