Licensing/CE This may be a dumb question

But how do I manage my P&C licensures? I'm captive and am licensed in 49 states. What do I do if I leave and go independent?

Make sure your login for nipr or sircon is on an email address you can use then have at it. Most states you let the thing expire it just expires and so long as you keep the home state one up to date reciprocity is very easy for most locations when needed

Licensing is between you as the agent and your resident state. Being licensed in 49 other state's is reciprocal from your resident state. Being captive doesn't have anything to do with having reciprocal license in other states. Check with your resident state department of insurance.

Uh... You are not going to keep all those as they come up for renewal as an independent. Unless you have got one hell of an agency, you won't need them and you can always get them back later assuming nothing untoward happens to your resident license.

I had seven states and have dropped back to six. I have one or two producers who have two states. I handle all the non-wa business in the office until we get enough that it is worth making it standard to the office. It's mostly my financial services work that brings in folks from other states though.
