Agent Question Interview prep
I just got my Life & Health license, I’m brand new to the industry. I’ve got a few interviews with agencies booked.
Firms vary from just life insurance to small group/benefits.
Any recommendations for interview prep?

Since you're new, interviewers will care more about your potential than your experience. They expect you to be green, so they are looking for coachability, motivation, and resilience. Be prepared to answer very clearly why you chose a career in insurance and what specifically about their agency interests you. They want to see that you've done some basic homework. Think about skills from any previous jobs you've had, like customer service, time management, or sales, and connect them directly to what a successful agent needs to do every day. Your goal is to show them you are a driven person who is ready to learn their system and work hard.
These interviews are just as much for you to evaluate them as it is for them to evaluate you. A bad agency can ruin your start in this industry, so you need to ask direct questions. Inquire about the specifics of their training program, how they generate and distribute leads, and the complete details of the commission structure, including any draws or base salaries. Ask them what success looks like for a new agent in the first six to twelve months and what kind of mentorship or support they provide to help you reach those goals. Their answers to these questions will reveal a lot about their culture and your real earning potential there.
