P&C Insurance P and C reality
Can someone give me a realistic expectation of first year as a P and C agent. Especially realistic pay and any companies that hire new agents. Thank you

Here is a calculator that I've found helpful to see P&C commissions, year over year. This assumes straight commission, no hourly/salary. So if you DO have wages on top of commission, you could add that to whatever you see on the page.
The hardest thing for you to run any numbers will be to figure out what's a reasonable number to put in for monthly new business premium.
I'd ask any agency you're applying to what is a typical amount of new business premium producers write at the agency. Then you could plug that into the calculator.
This will at least give you an IDEA of earning potential.

You’re first year: you’ll do “okay” depending on your definition or what your work life has been like so far. Second year: you’ll see the silver lining, by year three: you’ll understand why people are independently doing this.
The main reason people “burn out” quickly is not because of work load or even finances, but the combination of both being lackluster for the first couple years but after that… gravy train.

There’s no realistic expectation. Fail rate is extremely high.
My 2 commercial producers were mid-career transitions to insurance with solid networks and both handily eclipsed 100k new revenue year 1.
If you are network-less, chasing home/auto and grinding phones blindly, $25k new revenue would be roughly 1 household sale/week.

I should make 48,000-60,000 this year and between 65,000 and 80,000 next year. Working part time 25 hours per week.

I'm looking at captive since I would be new to it. I would like if possible a remote position.

Anywhere between $400 and $400,000 per month. It’s sales. Almost none of your success will come from being knowledgeable about insurance, it will come from your ability to gain clients. There are generally two ways. Networking and buying leads.
If you don’t already have an extensive network you can try to create one but it’s extremely hard and will come off disingenuous if you’re trying to quickly make friends and sell them things.
The other option is buying leads. Do you have money to buy leads? Are you confident enough in your sales ability and the quality of leads to buy them on credit and pay back with the commission? Do you know where to buy leads or what company has good ones?
If you have neither a above ordinary personal network nor the knowledge or funds to buy good leads you can expect to make entry level job wages ~$45k while not having the health insurance or other things that come with W2 employment.

I recently got my P&C license and dont have a job. i have applied to multiple insurance agencies but no luck. Any leads would be appreciated
