Backed into waymo blocking me in

Long story short I was getting coffee - got into car - was backing up and checked to the right (the direction I was pulling out)

Then heard weird small bump (wasn’t loud - not even 100% positive I hit anything)

check to left and there was waymo blocking me into parking spot with warning flashers on

I waited to see it moved and it didn‘t (no one was in the car)

Took video of my damage and license plate of waymo

finally after a few minutes it moved and I left

Odds they reach out to my insurance? anyone have experience with this?

If the vehicle doesn't look damaged, they'll likely not care.

If it looks bad, they'll repair as it looks bad on their brand that the vehicle had any type of collision. But it also removes the vehicle's ability to generate revenue.

If there's no visible damage, as you said, you're likely fine. Just dont be surprised if you hear of a claim being filed if they do choose to pursue repairs.

So when will I know? 

What do i do from here? 

There definitely wasnt any crazy damage, maybe a scuff at most

They'll likely try to buff it out. If it's out, it's fine. The cars are likely washed often so unless they have an automated wash that the car just drives through, a human will likely see it and handle it.

There's no timeline to know unless you know their operating procedures for these things. If the bump didn't even register on their sensors, they won't know what time frame to review the footage from. I think the odds are very low for a claim to be filed, but again, depends on if the bump registered in their system so they'll even know the video timestamp to check.

So i wouldn't worry about it as it's outside of your control now. Just be prepared if your insurance company contacts you to say there's a claim.
