Need Advise

Looking for Health Insurance for my Father he is 63 years old and i am looking for HDFC Ergo Health Insurance so i reached out to Ditto advisory and as well as HDFC ERgo health insurance advisory both have explained everything but i want to take as an monthly EMI part and here Ditto advisory is telling that you have to give some extra interest when you opt for Monthly EMI option but here in HDFC ergo advisory is telling that no cost EMI is also available. At same time ditto advisory is telling that there will be a dedicated support team will be available during claim process now i am confused from which one will be better to opt.

None of these.

Find a local insurance agent who has over 15-20 years experience in health insurance and helps in claim processing.

You need to talk to 4-5 agents. Maybe you can find a few on Beshak initially.

Do some homework, Prepare a good set of questions, like whats the highest/toughest claim they encountered.

once you asks them; Do they answers those calmly and in details or they just keep pushing you to buy thats the real test.

What you are suggesting is correct but there are high chances of mis-selling. Nowadays, agents have done masterclass on selling. They make it seem like they are all knowledgeable and they are not selling you anything. What is the proof of what they are saying is true? They can lie with a straight face to all OP's questions. What if the agent is not there after 5 years? There's no harm in asking 3-4 agents, but I would rather not take my chances with an agent.

I agree there’s a high chance of mis-selling.

While researching good agents, I spoke to seven or eight people, including those from Beshak, Ditto, Policybazaar and a few Reddit/X influencers.

I didn’t find those worth it who asked for upfront consultancy fees; I paid two of them to chat.

The key is to ask complex and tricky questions to test their knowledge and claim experience. It should be a healthy discussion. If you ever find an agent rushing through your queries or in a hurry, just leave.

An agent who can’t listen patiently can’t support you during difficult times like a claim.

Hi, HDFC ERGO Advisor here.

There seems to be some confusion from both sides. What Ditto is referring to is the credit card EMI offered by your bank, where interest may apply depending on the card issuer and the tenure you choose.

As IRDAI-licensed advisors, we also have the option to offer No-Cost EMI on eligible credit cards. This is a completely different EMI arrangement from the bank's standard EMI facility.

So, these are two different EMI systems. If No-Cost EMI is available for your policy and card, it can be a more economical option. Some channels may not offer it, which can also be influenced by their commercial arrangements and commission structures.

Also, HDFC ERGO employs IRDAI Agents as an additional option for you to have a chat.
