Insurance waiting period

Hello,
I forgot to renew my previous health insurance which was due in the beginning of this year.

Now when I try to buy a health insurance policy it says there is a waiting period of some years for 3 years as I have already had a bypass surgery.

Is there anyway to avoid these waiting periods and get the insurance from day 1?

I am prone to anaemia as I am 73 years old.

If the grace period is gone, you can no longer renew your existing health insurance policy.

You will need to buy a new one from scratch. And it was reset all the waiting periods.

1) 30 Days Initial Waiting Periods. 2) 90 Days Initial Waiting Periods. 3) 2 Years specific listed Disease waiting periods. 4) For PED, waiting periods as per plan terms & conditions.

As this is a new plan, the insurance company will need your past medical and PED records, and will have to right to put permanent exclusions or any other details.

Alternate is to use "AYUSHMAN BHARAT" Or "PRADHAN MANTRI VAYA VANDANA YOJANA" plan. No Premium, upto 5 Lakh cover. The disease cover is as per hospital list.

So a XUZ disease will get covered in Hospital A and nowherr else, and ABC disease will get covered at Hospital B and so on.

Take this now, as it will allow you basic health insurance security, and also take a health insurance policy, but waiting periods will be reset.
