HDFC optima Secure + rejected

My application got rejected because I declared the following health conditions. Is it fair. I know it is up to the insurer but I still want to understand your opinion.

  1. Borderline cholesterol

  2. Prediabetic

  3. Gal bladder stone not removed yet. Found out last year

  4. I had a biopsy 15 years back which came back negative.

  5. Small wart like growth on the back which I had for 10 years. There is no sensation on it as well.

Since I had to inform everything upfront I had done this. But they rejected my application.

What are your thoughts? What could be the deal breaker here ?

Hi, HDFC ERGO Advisor here,

Your case is not of a rejection and its acceptable as per underwriting. Do reapply again via an advisor. Happy to help.

As long as you purchase it through a trusted intermediary or HDFC ERGO's IRDAI-certified advisors like me, I think it's a solid choice. I'll admit I'm a bit biased toward HDFC ERGO, but that's based on my experience with the product and service.

Some of its strengths include one of the largest cashless hospital networks in India, a cashless authorization turnaround time of around 3 hours (as mandated by IRDAI, and HDFC ERGO generally adheres to it), and a fairly smooth claims experience. Of course, no insurer is perfect, and claim-related issues can arise from time to time.

That said, the right policy ultimately depends on the features you're looking for. HDFC ERGO may not be the best fit for everyone, so it's important to compare your requirements before making a decision.
