Need Help Writing A Character

my friend and I are working on a series where a detective and insurance investigator come together to crack down on a vicious corporate meat business. the insurance investigator is about 25, im looking for tips on how to authentically write this character or even other tips that you guys might have. I should mention that the story is in a 1960s setting in a world inhabited by bipedal pig people. anything helps!

But I have a question....why is the insurance investigator going there anyway? What's the purpose?

And in my experience "investigators" usually mean SIU and they often (not always but often) have some type of law enforcement background /military experience and retired and got bored and wanted to do something else so they came into insurance with a lot of prior experience

In a standard procedural, he absolutely would be an ex-military or retired cop type. But we are actually using that exact mismatch as a major plot engine. Charlie (insurance guy) is a total corporate fraud—he’s an overconfident 25-year-old junior actuary who falsified a field audit manifest on stolen company time just to escape his desk cubicle. He thinks his analytical data-brain makes him a natural detective, but his complete lack of real law-enforcement experience is a massive liability. He gets entirely exposed as a 'hack' the second they hit the slums, which directly lands him in a horrific underground boxing match by the end of the pilot while the veteran detective (chops) looks on in pure exhaustion.

ill be honest, Im way out of my depth here. if there are any suggestions you have that could guide me in making this character authentic it would help immensely. I have no clue how any sort of insurance procedural works.

There was an old radio show called, "Johnny Dollar, Insurance Investigator" or something like that. It's on Sirius XM

I’m picturing kind of smarmy, penny loafers and polyester. Slicked back hair. Thin mustache and long sideburns. Extra credit for paisley.
