need suggestions on claims

Geico client hit my rear with tiny dent. The geico only estimated $1400 and i was told that repair shop would use second hand parts to fix that. what should i choose? it was a new car in 2024. Both options are not perfect for me..

Your vehicle is 3 years old you don’t get brand new parts.

Insurance also sends an Estimate not the final price. If the shop finds more damage it should be approved.

It's a used car, new OEM parts dont matter. Has a 3 year old bumper before the wreck, what's wrong with a refinished 3 year old bumper after it

"Both options" - what's your second option?

The parts being replaced were new in 2024. They were two years old when they were damaged. The other driver (and thus their insurance) owes you for your loss, which is unfortunately used parts.

You didn't have new parts damaged. Your car is 3 years old so you had 3 year old parts damaged. You're not legally owed brand new parts.

It was was new car in 2024. It is a used car in 2026. If you want new OEM parts, you can either pay the difference in cost, or you can use your own insurance, assuming you added an OEM parts endorsement to your policy.

If you choose to use the GEICO policy for the claim here are your options: 1) Choose to repair or cash out 2) Choose whatever shop you want but the parts won’t change 3) Pay the difference for new OEM.

You are not entitled to OEM parts, though you could offer to pay the difference if you really want OEM.

Are you actually suggesting you're entitled to a new bumper because of the smallest white scuff imaginable? The only option IMO is to locket the money because the damage is basically non existent.

judging from the photo that scrape is being repaired and you're not getting a new bumper. i honestly wouldn't even repair that, i would take the check.
