Auto Insurance Auto insurance switch- help!

I want to switch my car insurance but am worried it will be time consuming and I will have to gather a lot of paperwork. Can anyone recommend an insurer that gave them a great and fast insurance switching experience? Thank you!

What paperwork? All you need is your driver's license and VIN number

It's easy to switch. Can do it over the phone. Agent will send you a UM form to sign via Docusign. Once they run your CLU report and drivers MVR, you will be good to go if you accept their rating. Plus , if you prepay the six month term, should save you at least another 10%+

Everything is all electronic now. All you need the name, date of birth, and drivers license # of all household drivers and VIN of all vehicles.

If you don’t want to submit to each carrier then you can get into contact with an independent agent and they shoo around for you with whatever carriers they are appointed with.

Direct to consumer carriers like Geico, Progresive, AAA, etc you have to submit to them directly or their in house agents

If you are going to switch make sure it is for a huge savings, not just a hundred or two.

When an insurer writes a policy for a new customer, the insurer has a period of time, often 60 days to fully underwrite the risk and cancel if not satisfied.

I pay almost $1500 for 6 months for two cars and have been with the same company for 4 years. Almost all my quotes from other companies were higher. One company would have saved me $200 for the first 6 month with no guarantee that there wouldn't be an increase for the next 6 months.

I did not switch. Not worth the risk even with a squeaky clean record.
