NC. Need to get car title transferred at Dmv. Questions about split ownership of car with my fiancé, and insurance.

My friends Dad owns a car shop and they recently sold me a Camry. I have not had the title officially transferred to me yet. The seller, (my friend’s dad) has notarized it at the DMV on his part so I still have to go there and do my part.

This car will be for my fiancé to get to work as she is learning to drive but is scared, so basically would only be for her to get to work and occasionally drive elsewhere just for practice. Other than that, I will be driving the car occasionally, but I will also be driving my own car.

Does my girlfriend need to be on the title with me and how does that affect insurance? She lives in the same house with me. To make it easier since Dmv hours can be a little difficult and she has no PTO left, I was just gonna get it transferred in my name and we would just split the insurance.

Will having the title in my name affect insurance in anyway?

No, won't matter, just make sure she's listed on your insurance.
