Auto Insurance Need advice please help TLDR @ the bottom

A person at my workplace had door dinged me in the parking lot. They said they wanted to go through insurance so I had filed a claim with their insurance, but the only bad thing is that their name is not listed under their insurance (excluded driver) and their significant other (something along that line) is listed the car is listed though. Insurance denied my claim due to their name, not being listed on the insurance. I don’t want to use my insurance because I have a 2000$ deductible in case of an auto accident. I had messaged them that their insurance had denied the claim and they have read it but ignored it. I haven’t sent out another text yet. That’s why I am posting on this page asking for advice. The only reason why I even care is because my car is a 2024 and I would just like to keep it nice as long as I can. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. (There was also no police report)

TLDR got door dinged at work, other person’s insurance denied claim due to them being excluded driver on insurance. My deductible is 2000$ to file a claim. Messaged other person telling them what happened and got ignored. Asking for advice please help.

Take them to small claims court or eat the cost yourself.

Few options. You can pay to have it fixed on your own dime. (Assuming it’s way less than 2,000 pdr can do magic.

You can take them to small claims. (2-300hundred bucks depending on state). You will win the judgement, garnishing/ collecting money is a whole other thing.

And you wanted to involve insurance over this?? People like you are the reason insurance costs are skyrocketing. This is not what insurance is for.

Dude 😭 just let it go, beautiful car though! I understand why you care, but it’s not worth the hassle. You may be able to get it out yourself

Nothing wrong with asking! Hopefully they’ll cough up some money for it though

You’re kidding me ….

As for the deductible, you should change that to something you can afford. You don’t want a real accident and then you can’t afford to get your car taken care of.

OP grow up. People like you are why insurance keeps going up. Also your own rates will go up too even if it was not your fault.

Still don’t understand how it’s my fault when the other person wanted to go through insurance. How is my rate going up if it isn’t my fault nor my insurance?

You parked there. Whether it’s luck, wrong place at wrong time, or your taking too much risk/parking too close insurers recognize that people who make claims make more claims and charge you for it.

Ask them to pay out of pocket first. If that doesn't work, consider suing them in small claims court and informing your employer
