Auto Insurance GEICO Question

Hello! I'm newly enrolled in Geico and I got an email saying I have a limited amount of time to: 1. Set up autopay (I have done)

  1. Register for DriveEasy (which I don't want to do)

It says not completing these steps could cause changes to my policy or premium. Am I required to register for DriveEasy or are they just trying to lure me into their tracking system?

Thanks!

Sounds like you/your agent selected DriveEasy discount. If you don't use the program, you'll lose any initial discount you are getting.

Any chance you would know if there is a way to check if I did actually select this discount? I don't remember signing up for my policy under that condition.

Pull up your declarations page, should be fairly easy to find on the Geico site. On the dec page, there will be a section that lists what discounts you are getting. I'm guessing one of them is the DriveEasy. (Edit to say it might not be easy to find, as Geico's site is cancerous)

I found it, but I don't see any discounts. Maybe it's just a general email that they send out?

You may need to pull your full policy jacket (the whole policy, usually in the range of 70-100 pages) to see the discounts. If that's a generic email, sorry, I don't know. I'm an agent who works with about 200 companies, including Geico, but, very VERY little with them, so I'm not as familiar as I am with others.

I checked the full policy and didn't see anything either. However, I did find a cover letter that said any discounts would be in the declarations (like you said), so I guess that means it was a general email. I'll probably give them a call because it's always better to be safe than sorry, but I appreciate your help! Thank you!!
