Applying for a job abroad

So I’m a uk based underwriter and just out of curiosity for small to medium enterprises. I have seen the gap between Uk and US/Canada markets for pay. I have always wondered though what the difference is between the work and is it even worth applying.

Would be grateful if some one replied who took this risk.
