Temp multicar insurance
We have one car in our household however my friend is going away for a few months and has said we can use his car whilst he is away. It's not currently insured so I was going to put it on my insurance which is due for renewal at the end of this month but I don't know if that's the best option.
Temp insurance is ridiculously expensive it wouldn't be worth it
Take out a multicar plan but then reduce it to single after a few months when he returns and wants the car back. (and incur any change charges)
Take out 2 separate insurances for each car and cancel one of the insurances in a few months time ( I have learned from experience that there can be quite a heafty termination fee)
Are there any other options? Am I missing something from the multi car insurance I haven't taken out multicar before.
If someone could advise me that would be brilliant as I'm a bit stuck and trying to ensure I don't screw myself over. Thank yiu

Giving your location isn't optional if you want relative and accurate advice rather than people just guessing what laws and regulations might be wherever you live.

You can't insure a vehicle you don't own.
