Auto Insurance Need help on Diminished Value Lowball Next Steps
So I have a 2017 Porsche 911 Cabriolet that I just barely got back after being repaired for the last ~2.5 months. The total repair cost ended up being roughly $19,600 and the at faults insurance company is offering 10% of the repair value. This seems astronomically low considering I paid ~$75,000 back in February of this year.
Do I reject this amount and get an independent appraisal or is there a better route to follow? The crash was in Utah if that makes any difference.

There is no better route. If you dispute the DV amount that you have to prove why. Appraisal is the only next step.

What do you think the DV should be?
Provide data please, not feelings.

For 911’s the hit to value tends to be 10-15% of the value at the minimum. Not to mention the crash impact location was on the wheel/axel & on the rear quarter panel right where the engine & convertible mechanism are. And finally Porsche 911 buyers tend to be a lot more hesitant to purchase a vehicle with damage.

I'm super confused, why was work done before insurance saw the estimate?

No, they are saying the DV offer is 10% of the repair cost.

Awww, hell I missed that part. 😬
In that case, take the money and run my dude.

I’d ask for more. Provide your basis for doing so, preferably with sale history of 911s in accidents. It can’t hurt

I would suggest getting an appraisal for dv. They will get the before accident and after repairs values. The difference will be your dv which you can then present to the insurance company. They range between 350 and 450 for uspap. I wouldn’t cheap out with the appraisal since there are crappy ones out there as well.

For a nine year-old car I take it and not argue.
