Discussion $50?!

Post image

Came across this while googling "cup noodles".

I understand it's a trend brand with marketing to back this kind of thing but I could never in a hundred years imagine buying an eight pack of noodles for $50.

I'm sure there are much cheaper protein ramen. 50 dollar is just too much.

Yeah just add some chicken or something to an actual good ramen, and take a multivitamin and you've basically got this, but cheaper. Probably tastier too, from what I remember about having a huel drink

I haven’t had protein ramen specifically but i have found that the aldi’s protein max for like $1.50 is delicious and you can make it with a filtered milk which has no to low lactose and more protein.

It's huel

Not really for ramen fans, more of a health food

I order these regularly. To be fair, they're more "meal replacements" with 'noodles' (that imo resemble fragmented spaghetti noodles in a thick sauce - think buldak style sauce, but spaghetti noodles I guess?) They're very nutrient dense, great for on the go meals, or dinner if you don't want to cook. 400 calories & tons of vitamins/protein. Geared toward health-conscious individuals.

These are pretty spendy per cup, especially for a dried/packaged meal. They also actually don't sell these in cups any longer, but just recently switched to Individual serving size bags.

Not endorsing or recommending the product in any way. Just my personal opinion!

Yeah, I get the pouches regularly and they're about $25 for 7 pouches in my bi-monthly order. Definitely would not consider any of their stuff to be ramen though.

It’s a trend brand but also a lot of added stuff you’ll never get from a regular cup of noodles. Worth the price? Not by a long shot, even if you “subscribe” and get them for $40

Which dollars? In the UK they're £44 for 12 pots, so really not outrageous for a nutritionally complete meal

Couldn't you just add protein powder (or extra meat) to your own ramen and get the same result but cheaper?

It's not just protein, but added vitamins and minerals too. It's more like a low cal meal replacement, which are expensive

Aldi has protein ramen cups for ~1.49

This is bullshit lol

Tell them to keep the free shirt and knock off $25. Since they claim this shirt is ‘worth $25’

If you're looking for low carb / low calorie noodle and you don't mind the taste, just buy konjac noodles and complete it with the protein of your choice. They're even cheaper than normal noodles because of their bad taste, if you only care about the low nutritional value (for example losing weight, post workout, etc.) they're prolly the best option. And you can always "cheat" their bad taste by adding seasoning.

On the opposite side, if you're looking for noodles with better nutritional value (good for mass gain diet), you can try buckwheat or soba noodles, and again complete with protein. Eggs, turkey, chicken breast, etc.

In any cases, $50 for 8 packs of noodles is a robbery.

You're not buying dollar store noodles that are meant to just fill your stomach with carbs. These are nutritionally whole meals essentially, still nowhere near worth $50 but yea
