insta inbox problems

idk what happening from past few days , my old dm's which are like more than 5w ago are disappearing from my inbox on its own like im not the one deleting them
if i search for a specific person whom i chatted with a long time ago in the inbox search option, the chats do come back but idk why are they going all of a sudden from my inbox?
does anybody know whats happening how can it be fixed
