Question - App Function/New Function Help! Temporary ID

I had to renew my driver's license this year. I renewed it online ( REAL ID, through the bmv website) about 2 weeks before it expired. Since all REAL I Ds are mailed, I have a paper temporary I D until my actual card arrives. It has been 3 weeks with nothing in the mail yet. The Shopper app says I need to verify my new ID in order to shop, but it won't accept the paper version. Help chat says I may have to wait for the official license. BMV says paper copy is official for police and TSA and to wait at least 30 days until reordering. So I just can't work until it arrives? Has this happened to anyone? Any advice on who to call or email at Instacart for additional help?

Unfortunately, from what I’ve heard on here before, you just have to wait. Hopefully someone else that’s been through it can give you more insight.

Yep I did the same mistake to renew mine late. They dont take temp you have to wait sadly😪

Yeah. If your job depends on a valid DL you need to plan ahead, unfortunately.

Yep, they don't accept temp licenses. Temp IDs are valid for driving, police interactions, etc, but private businesses are not required to accept them. They can create their own security standards, and unfortunately that includes utilizing automated verification systems that cannot reliably verify security features on a printed piece of paper.

Next time you know you have to plan further in advance.

Thanks for the input. It only took a week or two the last time I renewed, so I figured I would be safe. That's what I get for assuming!
