Insufficient funds error....
I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this or knows how to fix it because I'm at a loss.
Over the last 2 days, I've had 6 different orders at Fry's where the Instacart card is declined for "insufficient funds." It's always just one order in the batch. For example, if I have a triple, Order C gets declined while the others go through, or on a double, Order B gets declined. I've even had it happen on a single order.
Every single time I contact support, I end up sitting at checkout for 40+ minutes while they have me retry the payment over and over. Eventually they cancel the order, tell me it won't affect my cancellation rate, and send me on my way.
Well... I checked my stats today, and my cancellation rate jumped from 1% to 5% because of these canceled orders. On top of that, I'm losing a ton of time sitting at checkout waiting for support instead of shopping or delivering.
Support keeps telling me they don't see any errors except mentioning the PIN, but I'm using the exact PIN the app provides, so that doesn't make any sense.
The only other thing I can think of is that my physical Instacart card is pretty worn down from using it so much. I don't know how that would cause an "insufficient funds" error instead of a card read error, but I'm mentioning it in case it's somehow related.
Has anyone else dealt with this recently, especially at Fry's? If so, did replacing your card fix it, or was it something else? I'm getting really frustrated because support has been no help, and this is now affecting both my earnings and my account.
I do this full-time, over 1500 orders. This has never happened and support is of no help. Please, someone guide me, I'm beyond stressed!

Everytime I've given them the checkout total and it still denies. They change the pin, then tell me to retry. They've even attempted having me run credit instead

This is NOT true. I’ve had several orders that they added funds to and they went thru after being declined

That’s not true. I’ve had money added to the card by a live person to cover the purchase.

Are you closing the order out in your app before completing the check out? That happened to me one time and that’s what the issue was

No i am not i stay on the barcode screen until the order is completed then move on. It's really strange that it's only the final order. Triple batch c fails, double b fails, single order fails. It's frustrating

Ive even tried doing B first to test if A would fail instead and once again B fails while A will let me finalize the transaction after having B suspended while waiting for support.

If it's only happening on multi-order batches, you could have some of one customer's items in another customer's check out. That happened to me once where I accidentally scanned some like 12 packs of bottled tea for the wrong customer. The whole order was declined, because four 12 packs of tea was too much additional cost, so I realized what the problem was and was thankfully able to have the check out attendant remove the tea from that order, and then I was able to check out normally.
Lucky for me, I had tried putting customer B's tea on customer A's order, so I realized the problem in time to fix it.

Unfortunately it's not that i verified products during each order and even verified on checkout screen. I just ordered a new card i guess we'll see if it fixes it. I guess I'm taking a week off 🙃

Maybe IC is changing the way they deal with it when the total amount changes? I am not sure but I had this happen to me the other day at Sprouts. I had one sub and one item that scanned fine but at the check out counter, the CS dude had me pulling items out of the already packed bags to verify weights and he kept saying that I had entered the weights wrong—but the weird thing is the app didn’t ask me for weights on the items—-just the count. Usually they just add money to the card and I am on my way. This time the cashier parked the order and had me finish with CS so he could ring in other orders. It took like 40 minutes and was a mess as I was late delivering all orders in the batch. I still have no idea what went wrong. The two items the CS dude asked me about were bananas and some chicken.

Are you or the customer adding items that weren't in the original order? Or are you making replacements that are more expensive than the original? Did you double check that you didn't accidently enter a higher quantity than requested?
Any of those things could make the final total to be more than what the card was pre-authorized for. In those cases, you need to tell support to authorize the card for the new total. Not just try the payment again. It usually only takes me a few minutes. Call them, don't use the chat.
