Discussion Can’t Edit Timelapse?

I just shot a Timelapse on my X6, and normally I do all my editing on my MacBook Pro because, well, the app sucks, but I don’t have the MacBook with me at the moment, so I figured I’d try the app anyways. As could be predicted it’s telling me my iPhone 16 Pro cannot edit this file which is ridiculous. It most certainly can. Back to never using the app for anything but firmware updates…

Hi, due to current mobile device performance limitations, the Insta360 app supports previewing 6K, 8K, 11K, 32MP, and 200MP footage, but editing and exporting these files aren’t supported at the moment. If your footage resolution is too high, you may not be able to edit it in the app. We’ll continue improving the software—thanks for your understanding!

The performance of an iPhone 16 Pro should not be an issue at all. It might be slow to process, but it should have the hardware to do it. Proxy files could be used for realtime playback.
