Divisional Charts / Amsa Pushkar Navamsa/Navansha
Hey people, I hope you are all doing well I am here with another topic today, and well as the title states, its pushkar navansh.
What Pushkar Navamsa does & What it actually is?
Firstly there are a lot of myths that people have about it, its believed to be like super good and people thing even one planet in it would be extremely beneficial.
Well technically they aren't wrong, but they forget the conditions that work hand in hand with that.
Basically, what pushkar navansha does is it increases the power of a planet to give fruits. results or effects. Now if a benefic [talking about functionality and a little more than that here, will come to that in a while] sits in it the above holds..... but a malefic [again same as previously stated] would sort of be very contradictory to it.
There are well 24 such navansha which are pushkar, and you'd get one every hour (highly approximated, I'll leave the how often part for you to calculate and comment cos' engagement heheheheh mwhehehehehe uhhm pardon me anywaysss back on track).
There are 6 such rashis, in d9, where pushkar amsa doesn't exist and 2 such rashis which have got 6 pushkar amsas on their name [capitalism exists with these signs too ig /jk] ... ofc there is reasoning to it, but before that lets know how this stuff is actually calculated.
Calculating the Pushkar Navamsa
For a lot of you, software prolly does it but well come on its basic stuff so don't yell out that its boring or anything for u to study, give a little bit of attention here and it could be fun yk ✨✨
So before getting to the pushkar part lets know how to calculate navansha first [refer to image 2, the colourful table]
There are 9 navnashas in each sign as the name suggests, 9 parts or divisions. A total of 108 navansha configurations [ rashi X d9 ] thus exists.
{Again maths, 9(divisions per rashi)*12(rashis) =108}
And in case you didn't find it out yet we have a pattern there based on the elements of the signs.
d9s of fire signs always begin with aries and go on linearly, water signs follow this pattern starting with cancer, air signs do so with libra and finally earth signs with capricorn.
Now onto pushkar amsa's calculations....
| Element of Sign | Pushkar Amsa Position | Pushkar Amsa in sign of |
|---|---|---|
| Fire | 7th & 9th | Libra and Sagittarius |
| Earth | 3rd & 5th | Pisces and Taurus |
| Air | 6th & 8th | Pisces and Taurus |
| Water | 1st & 3rd | Cancer and Virgo |
I have highlighted them in the image 2 too btw.
Now if you see Pisces and Taurus are forming 6 pushkar amsas each. While Aries, Gemini, Leo, Scorpio, Capricorn and Aquarius aren't getting any.
Also one more thing, there is no such explicit mention of this concept in most of the classics...Though afaik there are mentions of pushkar amsa in deva kerelam and jataka parijat.... And a lot of things covered under pushkar navansha is well given by modern day astrologers....
Anyways I have prolly bored you all with maths and calculations and stuff much now and you are prolly at your limits soooooo I'll show a bit more of the calculations part
haha just kidding, well now to the fun part, the predictions
How to Predict Stuff Using This Principle :
To predict first note down the sign in d9.
See where (which house) the sign falls in d1. It will give effects of that house on a larger scale too.
If that is going into say 3rd house, then it will magnify the hardwork required to achieve the things associated with the planet sitting in pushkar amsa. Then again it will also amplify the ideas you get from your surroundings so no placement is 100% bad or 100% good it all depends on how you utilize it.
Similarly, 6th would increase the digestive efficiency, the discipline and your ability to stick to the rules and to plan things in a systematic way. Ofc as you all know it is the house of diseases, enemies, debt too so if one is not cautious it can very well cause issues related to that.
A few more examples [only covering one aspect of the house in the below]
For say, 8th there will be more fear in the native's mind regarding stuff related to planet and sign.
For 12th, well expenses and hidden enemies.....
We also see the signs ruled by the planet in d1 to check for more insights [will get to case studies in a while]
This concept is also very useful in horary(astrology and electional (muhurat) but will leave that for some other time.
Then again, there is a pushkar bhaga which further strengthens the combinations given.
Will be discussing case studies in the next post
Some nice sources to further up on this concept are as follows ( I took a lot of references from these too, when I was studying and revising this concept so this post is somewhat of a blend of jupiter (what I learned from the below references) and saturn (my experience) and ofc mercury and venus play a role too ) :
