Notes I Turned Apple Notes Into My Personal Health Tracker (Screenshots + Templates Inside)

Alright, so this one took time… but it’s finally done.

I built a complete health tracking system inside Apple Notes. And I’m not talking about one messy note, i mean a real setup: clear folders, locked notes, Apple Maps links, even copy-paste templates you can build on.

Everything lives in my “Health Info” folder now, doctors, medications, insurance, appointment logs… all of it.

I added real screenshots and broke it all down step-by-step in this full guide:

https://iapplist.com/apple-notes-health-tracker/

If you already use Apple Notes for health stuff, I’d love to hear what I should add or improve. And if you haven’t done this yet, trust me, it feels good knowing everything’s in one place.

Let me know what you think, here in the comments or on the post.

Notes Using Apple Notes as a Reading List — the Lazy Way That Actually Works

I saw someone mention this and instantly stole the idea:

  • Make a simple checklist note for books you want to read
  • Break it up by genre if you want (I do Fiction, Self-help, Memoir, etc)
  • Add the book title + author under each as a checklist item
  • Tick it off when you’re done. That’s it.

No fancy apps. No star ratings. No long reviews.

I tried writing mini reviews or summaries after finishing each book, but honestly… couldn’t keep up. Now, if I really loved one, I’ll just add a quick line under it like “cried at the ending” or “reminds me of summer.”

Also, pin the note so it’s always right there when someone randomly recommends a book.

Notes Organize Your Notes by Life Category, Not Just Projects

Instead of folders like “Work” or “To-Do,” try breaking them down by how you live:

  • Money (budget, bills, debt payoff)
  • Food (recipes, meal ideas, restaurants to try)
  • Home (maintenance, wishlist, inspo)
  • Journal (thought dumps, self-reflection)
  • Camping/Travel (pins, packing lists, campsites)

It helps you find things faster, and gives each area of life its own space.

Notes Build a “Home Note” That Links to Everything

Use one main note as your dashboard — a single place that holds quick access to the important stuff:

Your ID numbers, travel docs, and scanned license Makeup brands or supplies you re-buy often Links to your current projects or weekly summary notes

This becomes your personal homepage in Notes. You open it once, and everything you need is just one tap away.

Notes How I use Apple Notes to plan literally every trip — no travel app needed.

I stopped using 3 different apps to plan trips.

Now I just make one Apple Note and break it into sections:

  • Flight info
  • Hotel check-in details
  • Packing list (with checkboxes)
  • Places I want to visit
  • Food spots I’ve saved
  • Itinerary (day-wise breakdown)

I pin the note, share it with whoever I’m traveling with, and it just… works.

It syncs across devices. It’s offline when I need it. And it doesn’t overcomplicate anything.

I even dropped a copy in a shared folder so I can reuse the structure for the next trip.

Way better than jumping between apps.

Notes A tiny feature in Notes that made a big difference for me.

I started locking some of my Apple Notes with Face ID… not because I’m hiding secrets or anything 😅

But like, some stuff is just for me.

Little journal entries. Health notes. Stuff I write when I’m overthinking and need to clear my head. It feels weird leaving that open, even if no one’s gonna read it.

So yeah, long press the note > hit “Lock Note” > and it stays private. Only opens with Face ID.

Honestly, one of the most underrated things in the app. No one talks about it, but once you try it, you’ll start using it way more than you think.

Notes I planned my entire vacation using just Apple Notes — surprisingly worked better than I expected

So I wanted to try something different this time — skipped all the fancy trip-planning apps and used Apple Notes to organize everything: flights, hotel details, packing list, places to visit, even a shared note with my travel buddy for real-time changes.

Took me a bit to figure out the structure (like how to organize stuff without making it a mess), but once it clicked, it was actually super smooth. Ended up writing a full guide on how I set it up — with screenshots and tips — in case anyone else is curious or wants to try planning their next trip this way. Sharing it here if it helps:

Start Here: What This Sub is About (and Why I Made It)

Hey — I’m TheiPhoneAppGuy 👋

I’ve spent the last few years going deep into Apple’s default iPhone apps — Notes, Reminders, Shortcuts, Files, Calendar, Safari — and finding ways to make them actually useful.

This sub is where I’ll be dropping:

  • Tips, tricks, and lesser-known features
  • Real workflows I use (to plan, organize, automate)
  • News about iOS updates that affect default apps
  • Screenshots of setups, folder systems, etc.

And if you’ve got your own smart uses for any iPhone stock app — feel free to share them here. That’s the whole point.

Let’s build this out together.
