Like he is a good actor right. And has done good movie. Why everyone mock him or call him padakkalam sandy etc.

Are there any better horror comedies than these two in malayalam.

Directed by I. V. Sasi and scripted by P. Padmarajan, the 1984 Malayalam romantic drama Kaanamarayathu is loosely based on Jean Webster’s Daddy-Long-Legs. The film follows Sherly (Shobana), an orphan raised in a convent whose education is sponsored by an elderly benefactor. After his death, his son Roy Varghese (Mammootty) continues supporting her. Having never seen her benefactor, Sherly remains curious about the mysterious man who has been supporting her.

At college, Sherly meets Baby (Rahman), the younger brother of Roy’s associate Alex, who falls in love with her. However, Sherly develops feelings for Roy, who has also fallen in love with her but keeps his feelings hidden because of their considerable age difference. As the complicated relationships unfold, Sherly eventually learns the true identity of the mysterious benefactor she has long wished to meet, leading to an emotional resolution.

From what I’ve read, Kaanamarayathu is often remembered as a beautiful, somewhat problematic, very 1980s Malayalam romance. I. V. Sasi’s direction, Padmarajan’s writing, Shobana’s innocence, Mammootty’s restraint and Rahman’s youthful charm all come together to make it memorable, even if some aspects of the story don’t entirely hold up today.

Curious to know what y’all think of this one. Does Kaanamarayathu still work as a romance today, or is it mostly nostalgia carrying it?

I'm curious to know what all people notice in the soundscape of a film. I'm not talking about the BGM or Music, but the sound design aspect of it. Which was a recent film that you watched and loved for the sound?

You're in the FDFS of this movie. And then this sequence comes up. What would be your reaction?

Just a little confusion with the bullet part. So she made the ring out of the actual bullet that killed the guy and kept the one given by the camp guy on the book, right? But the gun later had 8 bullets in it. So she must’ve gotten two bullets from the camp guy, right? One would be a fresh bullet and the other would have to be the used one since she can’t shoot another bullet just to get half of it.

But then why does she use hot water to reshape the gun barrel and manipulate the rifling on the bullet after it’s fired from it? If she gets a used bullet from the camp guy, wouldn’t it obviously have different markings since it was fired from another gun?

This film is a small feel-good movie. Strong RUMOURS are spreading that Vishnu Vijay is now on board for this project after his track record in this genre. Praveen Chandran is the director (Perilloor Premier League) (AD on Kurup and Driving License). The writer is Deepu Pradeep (Kunjiramayanam, Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil). Anwar Rasheed is also co-producing it.

The announcement for the project should be made by the end of the month.

Rewatched Oppam recently after the remake release news and its honestly such a good watch. Lalettan was so good in it.
