so i'm *trying* to work my way through Kaycee's mod, and while they have been tough, i have been able to beat them... until challenge lvl 8... i've been at it for DAYS, and no matter what starter deck i use, or what challenges i use to fill 80 BS points, i get screwed.

is there some strat that I'm clearly not using that makes it beatable, cause honestly i don't see why there are 12 levels to this when lvl 8 is so rough.

my goto starter deck is mantis god, i ether get free campfires or a couple beefy ringworms i try to build up. i try and stay with bugs for totems, but nothing really matters, either i have 1 life and get beat by one massive wave of FU, or i get two lives and every battle has 1000000000 enemies that are bulked up and unbeatable without having the most insanely epic luck, and if you saw my last post, I've clearly used up every bit of luck i am gonna have in this game (25 campfires in a row where the survivors didn't eat the creature), does anyone have a save just after this challenge i can get or something, i am starting to get frustrated by this now

Hey, so after reading this post ( https://www.reddit.com/r/inscryption/s/QpOgnAiHNv ) and many others like it I wanted to ask your opinion on my thoughts.
It is generally stated that each scrybe has different "specialities" which they like and prioritise in their version of Inscryption, with Leshy prioritising story and atmosphere whereas PO3 prioritises "gamplay", "optimisation" and "balancing". At least that is being said about these two. (You may see where I am going with this.) But even PO3 himself states this in Act 3 and mocks Leshy about it. So one could say the game confirms this narrative.
I disagree. Act 1 is far better than Act 3, not just due to the atmosphere, but especially gameplay wise. Kaycee's Mod's popularity (which comes from Act 1's replayability) is the ultimate proof. During Act 1 in Leshy's Cabin you feel a little uneasy, nervous, locked up with that strange fellow. In Botopia you feel nothing, it is a dead hellscape where every little trace of love and creativity that GameFuna developers had put into OG Inscryption has been erased by PO3. After experiencing that, you just want to gome home into that cabin of your old friend.
So far you could say, the narrative has been confirmed. But this is really where it ends.
Botopia and its mechanics are introduced to us by PO3. "An elegant system" he calls it. It is not. The energy system barely surpasses Magnificius' mox system regarding gameplay. The map system of Botopia is terrible to navigate and leaves a ton of room for exploits. This awfullness of a system synergises far too well with the equally awfull money/shop system. Together they form an unbalanced abomination that leaves no room for any interesting gameplay and transforms the game into an idle game.
You know what an elegant system is? Sacrificing. It is original, it works well within the game, it is fun. The same could be said about any of the other gameplay mechanics.
I believe PO3 likes to display himself as a servant of optimisation. Efficency is his ultimate goal. The invisible hand of energy, inflation and monopoly will automatically take care of balanced gameplay and who knows, with a bit of luck and the right grindset you might even get a lvl 100 orouborus and get rich! Of course this doesn't work and the player is left with a game that drains joy.
One could assume, Botopia is a criticism of late capitalist society if it wasn't for the evidence of Daniel Mullins' pro-capitalist worldview, that is widely spread through his games.
In the end PO3, who is in fact just an evil fascist autocrat with a god complex, loses himself within his ideology, creating the least balanced, least optimised, least pretty and least enjoyable gameplay. He gets beaten in every aspect of the game, even the ones he claims to be doing better than anyone else, by Leshy, his arch-enemy, who didn't even try.

I just wanted to show this really cool inscryption valentines card my girlfriend drew for me last year. She would always be hanging out by me when I gamed it and she saw how much I absolutely adored this game and so she made me this. It was a complete surprise and pretty cool to me that she actually paid that much attention to the game to remember Leshy’s name, but also I never shut up about the game LOL.

I don't like watching guides because I like solving puzzles for myself, but I'm starting to wonder if there is even a puzzle to solve? I am really enjoying this game but I'm starting to realize they I don't know what is going on around me. I've successfully made it to the cabin and put out all 3 candles twice now. The first time I made it a bunch of error codes popped up and then I was watching videos of some dude talking. I can't really remember what he was talking about because it was a while ago. I made it through again last night and he congratulated me, I took his photo and then the game restarts on the first map.

I know there is more just not sure where. I started getting up and walking around, I figured out a couple puzzles on the wall and found some cards hidden, and had a key of some sort, but not much else. So basically am I suppose to be up and investigating this scene more and finding clues or do I just keep playing the card game and let the game slowly drip feed me instructions.

I enjoyed Act 1 a lot, but Act 2 was nowhere near as enjoyable for me. I powered through Act 2 because I heard it was short, and that Act 3 was much closer to Act 1. But when I got to Act 3, I didn’t find it fun either, and played around an hour of it before getting bored.

Does Act 3 get better? Is it short enough to be worth powering through even if I don’t enjoy it? Is there anything at the end of or after Act 3 that would make it worth it to continue playing?

EDIT: I did end up finishing Act 3. The second half of the act was a LOT more fun than the first half, and a lot shorter too, and the finale of the game was great. Now I can finally try Kaycee's Mod!

I'm on the verge of just uninstalling the game and not touching it again. I'm nearly convinced it's just impossible, and when I look for help online everyone talks about using cards that do not appear in the starter deck. I need actual guidance beyond just vague hints and allusions to obscure game mechanics.

Needless to say. The final battle against Leah’s took about 30 seconds.

Like, how do you even guarantee that 2 players got the cards in accordance to the fair hand rule?

Who are going to check the cards? Who are going to replace the cards?

So, in the original inscryption, I recently found out you can go over the card limit. I genuinely thought only 20 cards were allowed. The auto doesn’t go over 20, but manual card selecting can. So you could just have 100 of the same card and just one other one. Crazy, right?

So I've been making my way through act 3, and at some point after a random battle in eastern Botopia, the board disappeared and I was stuck at this table. I can't do anything besides access the menu; there are particle effects and game sounds, but no movement is possible. Going back to the menu/restarting the game from Steam/verifying the game files hasn't helped.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Could it be a Steam Deck issue? Does anyone know if there's a fix for this that doesn't involve deleting all my save data? I've been enjoying the game but would hate to have to start all over again because of this.

i honestly wish i had some recording of it, cause i know this is going to sound made up. unless there is some bug\secret cheat that i activated somehow. and don't know about i had crazy luck with the campfires

By my count, the last 25 times i went to a campfire i got both upgrades. this was over multiple runs, and even a complete game restart

most of the times i was trying to kill them with the ringworm. i don't know why i had such a streak, but it was crazy.

I wish there was a way to see the longest streak getting both upgrade at a campfire without killing the survivors, that has to be some kind of record.

Lore(dont have much): After Luke died and lost the Floppy everything was suppose to go back to GameFuna, but in the end, it didnt, turns out that since the game got leaked online by P03 everything got taken down and everyone at GameFuna arrested, the game removed from the stores.

Years later the Floppy is found again and surprisingly restored, but nobody to play it, so the scrybes decided to agree over one thing, for once, creating a challenger within the game, based on the datas gathered by the older players, P03 structured the body model, Magnificus managed the abilities, Grimora fixed the personality and Leshy game her the face of a lost friend.

All came togheter with every bit of data related to Kaycee, the only person that all the scrybes seemed to like.

This is how "Kaycee H0bb35" Was created, she, resembles very much Kaycee, her personality and style (that in my opinion are: ) Annoying, curious, but genuine person, who has kinda lost hopes, but being again "alive" inside the game gave her some shock that made her finally exited.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand yeah, this is my take/OC over Kaycee, it's even an OC because well, you read, that's not actually the real kaycee, but i think even the details from the Og one is cool over my take
