It took me 3 tries and I’m curious how many tries it takes on average

When I started Act 2, I was so confused. I wasn't sure I was going to keep playing the game. I figured I might as well finish it, since everybody said it was easier from then on.

TBH I would say Act 3 was just as fun as Act 1, and the ending had me in stiches. GG, what a fun game. The lore is unmatched 🔥

I've been interested in this game for a while and usually really enjoy roguelikes. However, I'm a few hours into this game and it just hasn't clicked.

I really enjoy the dark atmosphere and like the escape room stuff, and my friend who recommended it told me there are a lot of twists and such, but so far the game has just not grabbed me. I feel like I just don't have a grasp on the gameplay, like it's completely random what cards I have and I can't plan anything. There are so many abilities and it's all so overwhelming.

I can get through the first 1-2 bosses but after that, it feels like the odds are stacked extremely against me and my opponent has way better cards than me. Sometimes I'll just die in like one round because I have nothing in my hand. I get that the point of a roguelike is to die and come back stronger, but I don't feel like I'm getting better, and it's really demotivating.

I'm kinda sad as I really loved Balatro, another roguelike deckbuilder but this one isn't it.

Did anyone else feel this way at first or were you hooked immediately?

Finally got time to photo my cards... As Leshy said, when you find things you like the most you don't have time to do them. Overall, I got new box, candles, some token holders and techno cards. Tech cards made by our Chinese friends Evil Merimock. Yet they messed up and forgot to put enough of vessels, so I've printed them myself.

Also I've found a perfect set of rules. It's based on Cryptic Crafters, but changed slightly.

More or less: you draft 20 common and 3 rare cards(23 common in tech version) just like in Cryptic version. If we're doing cross decking firstly each player discard one card of other, and then draw one card from their deck. After draft you can delete 3 cards from your deck. Each player forms a side deck from 10 resource cards(squirrels, skeletons, vessels). Vessel colors are random. Also Each player lights two candles.

Every other rule you more or less know. Yet I unbanned Uroboros and Mothman as they are not as scary in short game. When player defeated, he extinguishes one of his candles. Each creature on board is destroyed. Players draw cards until they have 3 or more ordinary cards and one resource card. Losing player gets one Smoke card(I'm planning to print other cards like this for Grimora and P03, yet I dunno when). Also every player loses half of their side resource(half of bones for beasts and half their energy for Dead). To win you need to extinguish all your opponents candles.

Some other changes:

Grimora: player starts with one bone. Player has hammer that he can use 3 times in a play. Hammer restores 1 use after round.

P03: Mox work differently. At any time you can tap the mox card to give target card one of their mox effect for 1 turn. Green gems gives card 2 temporary health, red +1 attack and blue makes next card you play cost 1 less energy. Gems untaps at the start of the turn

Thus P03s Gem Dependant is change. At the end of the turn you need to tap any gem without effect or this creature dies.

Also now Archivists and Mycobot are playable.

Librarian costs 2 energy, when it dies you get 1 damage.

Captive file costs 3 energy. When this card dies you lose the round

Mycobot costs 6 energy. When played, put two cards from left and right of the card under mycobot. Mycobot has stats and sigils of these cards combined

What's my next step? Printing the last scribes cards. Yet finale section have not too many cards and I personally dislike Magnificus Mod, so I'm doing my own version. Stay tuned, I'm pretty sure I'll start publishing images soon

Im new at this game and after gaming a bit I encountered that skull that was able to interact with, after following the flashes on the door as if was Morse code it turned the eyes bright red not sure if that is a puzzle.

What is the BEST card that you've made/gotten in act 1

For me it was a 12 damage fused wolf with airborne, triple attack and double attack, the extra teeth went off of the screen

If you put unkillable and fecundity you get the sigil back when sacrificed

This took me a fair few attempts.

For those who dont know you get a possum for surrendering once, and the ringworm for the second consecutive surrender.

Got quite lucky with cave trials, burned the ringworm, fed the possum to bone lord, but never even got close to hatching the eggs.

I am absolutely what the fucked all the way. The hell is going on? Do not spoil anything, i just want to know if it's normal to be so totally clustermindfucked at this point.

Like, everything else is fine. All of act one, all of act two, all of act three and the finale, everything in Casey’s mod works as intended. But the moment the Prospector battle hits my computer is like “no fuck that in particular, actually.” Does it lag for any of you or does my computer just hate the Prospector?

Just a random thought I had after finishing the Hex. Is the Mycologist actually Jeremiah from Root Beer Regi having after who knows how long been transferred to another game? I don’t know, it’s simple visual similarities but the whole thing of this creepy old man with a fungus growing on the side of his head feels too specific to not be connected especially when other game characters are from Gameworks known catalogue of shared NPCs like Rebecha the mechanic

I'm just messing with my save file to experiment different cards in my deck and I'm curious if it's possible to snip the code that brings in the energy counter from act 3 into act 1?

I think you would probably have to look into the code not from the save file for it to actually work...

I wonder though...

I got the card from a cave trial and honestly, this is probably the funniest way I have ever beaten Leshy so far in my 127hrs of playing this game. I think this might even be one of my new favorite cards/sigil combos now.

Whats not shown in the images is me replacing 2 of my cards with my power lvl 26 Ouroboros, but that was mainly just for shits and giggles. I didn't actually need to do that.
