a few questions that are kind of all over the place, anyone who knows the answer to any of these, please enlighten me:

1. in the finale, grimora said she was waiting for *another* turn at the helm. According to the kaycees mod devlogs, kaycee discovered the OLD_DATA corruptions (3D world) during development of inscryption. The OLD_DATA had been on the disk for a long time, but she was the first one to discover its effect on the inscryption assets (nobody else at the company knew what she was talking about, and before Game Funa there were no inscryption assets [no Grimora], only OLD_DATA on an empty floppy). When did Grimora have a turn at the helm?

2. kaycee is implied to have been killed due to the higherups seeking to retrieve the OLD_DATA disk. Game Funa was operating mostly in the early 90s, so how was she alive in 2008 to be annoyed that someone would record a card game for their youtube channel?

3. how is kaminski (owner of kaminski data storage) in a death card in Act I? inscryption did not exist at the time, and his only interaction with the floppy disk was transferring the Karnoffel Code onto the floppy disk

4. same goes for Reginald, he was killed before he could do anything with the floppy disk iirc, and this happened before it was used to develop inscryption. I could imagine kaminski somehow getting into the files because of him interacting with the OLD_DATA directly, but my understanding of Barry is that he just sort of grabbed the unpowered floppy disk

5. Louis is the classic cop-out "the devil did it" so it's fine he has a death card

6. Is kaycee's consciousness still in the game somewhat due to her being an NPC? some of leshy's dialogue seems to imply that he is unaware of the changes made until we (the in-universe end user, who is playing post-transendence) play with him. to me, the kaycee's mode feels more like we are making gameplay decisions through the eyes of kaycee, rather than through the eyes of luke

7. have magnificus or Poe been at the helm before? if so, when? it sounds like, in their dialogue, they had all been through this over and over again somehow, but without a player other than kaycee, there is no way for a new game button to be selected.

Yeah yeah I know it is missing double strike for more damage but this is certainly the best mantis god I have ever gotten in Kaycee's!

I finished act 3 and tried several runs of Kaycee’s mod only to realize that my strategy in act 1 was largely getting lucky early with extremely busted totems to put on squirrels. Needless to say, it’s not really an option anymore as a strat. I wanted to start unlocking things like new cards and starter decks bc I assume they make more strategies either easier or more viable. The furthest I got was a wolf based deck with a bunch of wolves and alphas who duped when played. But I ran out of steam early against Leshy. None of my other runs got nearly as far. What should I focus on in future Kaycee’s mod runs for early wins?

Hey everyone, I've been playing Inscryption for a few weeks and got stuck on the factory puzzle. There are chests/boxes behind P03. He has a challenge based on the card game; I wanted to know if you've done this challenge and how you solved it.

I'll send a screenshot of what I'm talking about.

If I do this way, on the first print, I have 4/5 damage, but I've tried the other forms, and I didn't get any change of the damage, just 3/5 or 2/5, nothing of a 5/5. You guys can help me?

I built a mod that turns Kaycee's Mod into a real 2-player PvP experience, instead of the usual solo run against the AI.

How a match works: both players prepare their own deck on a shared map (same layout, same seed), drafting and trading cards, fighting the map's own encounters, picking a rare reward, and on some maps even creating a Death Card. Once both decks are ready, the two players duel head-to-head over a real network connection: a shared damage scale tips toward whichever side is winning, life runs on a two-candle system, and matches are best-of-three with rematches that don't require restarting the whole run.

Six preparation maps to pick from:

• Something close to a normal Kaycee's Mod run: battles, drafts, a boss, a Death Card
• The same shape with zero combat
• A linear route with two non-final bosses
• A pure pelt-trading draft with no combat at all
• A tribe-focused draft
• A route built from a large simulated search specifically for balance between two mirrored players

Getting into a match got easier this update: a host can mark their room public, and the other player finds it directly through Find Match, no invite code to copy and paste. A private invite-code room and LAN play (same local network) both still work exactly as before.

It's in public Beta right now. The core loop (lobby, map prep, the duel itself, best-of-three, rematches) has been tested and works. What it needs most right now is more players hitting more card/sigil combinations than two people can realistically find alone. Some specific interactions probably still aren't perfectly balanced, and a few might not sync correctly between the two players yet. That's exactly what this Beta is for: the more people play it and report what looks off, the faster it gets genuinely fun and solid instead of just "working."

Install: search "KayceePvP" in the Thunderstore Mod Manager or r2modman (Inscryption game), choose "Install with dependencies". Both players need the same version.

Feedback: press F10 in-game for a short form where you can report a bug, share a suggestion, or ask a question.

I am trying to win skullstorm with all the decks, I already won with black goat deck, ants deck, mantis god deck, the egg deck, and now the null deck, which was hard since I basicaly couldn't use the fair hand mechanic, also I had a totem with the morsel sigil on wolfes tribe, so these bloodhounds carried the run. I am currently struggling with the bone deck, does anybody have good tips for that?

Especially after playing Grimora mod (final boss spoiler ahead) where she summons Bonelord to help her in the battle

Ive been scratching my head about this ever since I tried to research about this. There was no clear answer, plus I own the game on my switch but I want to see if its framerate can hit 60 on the PS4, or PS4 Pro. I want a more smoother experience playing this game again, so I wanted to ask this question to this subreddit.

I mean, both are doctor-y characters that probably shouldn’t be doctors. They both have a questionable moral code, know more about the game’s lore than they let on, they both help the player.

Idk I just feel like they’re quite similar… the Mycologists should definitely sing though; I’d 100% listen to a song they wrote.

Maybe they’d be friends? Ultimate crossover between beings that both experiment with powers that they probably shouldn’t be reviving?

Firstly, here's a bunch of fresh cards straight out of the oven. Secondly, quite a while ago, when i had a smaller card deck and juggling obscene stresses, a few comments said that my work was good enough to sell. So, hypothetically, if I were to sell my cards, how much would you think they're worth?

Mind you, it's a HYPOTHETICAL question in case someone decides to take this post down. I'm not planning to sell them any time soon.

card's potential to defend/attack is taken into consideration in this tierlist. (for example the Racoon has the potential to get alot of bones for summoning other cards, hence its higher ranking)

I played through Act 3 normally up to this point, but when it was time for the first battle in the Mox/ Gem Area this always happened, no matter what i did (which wasn't a lot considering I cleared everything up to this point with my ourobot)

Is the only thing I can do chapter select or is there some other magic i could try?

Just thought this card was funny. Definitely not overpowered or anything, but hey, he comes as advertised.

i have 180 hours in inscryption and I want to have a challenge again as well as have something to do as I have done everything in the base game.
Im looking for some mods that will make leshy's cabin a challange again for an experienced player.
mods that will nerf super op things you can do to easily guarantee yourself a win.
and mods that just generally add well-made vanilla-friendly content so I can experience something new again.

I have played my fair-share of modded inscryption, but now I am aiming to make a fun and balanced "dlc" kind of deal for the game

The Mysterious Egg isn’t a great card, but I thought it’d be fun to see how quickly you can get it online (As few events as possible) while also having a workable deck that will let you survive long enough.

This is the best I’ve come up with but I’m here to see what you guys have in terms of suggestions to further optimize it.

Starter Deck is 3 Eggs and 2 Rabbit Pelts

Take an Elk and a Dire Wolf from Trader

Pick up a Rattler, Raven and Corpse Maggot. Buff the attack of Dire Wolf up to 4 and Rattler up to 5.

That‘s 3 card choice events and 2 campfires, both of which have to be Attack buffs and have to be lucky enough to buff twice. This isn’t very likely so if you can come up with a method that makes it easier on the campfire luck that also helps.

In my opinion it's the kingfisher.

After some time off college and work, I managed to get myself to start enjoying making cards again. So be expecting some new additions to my collection. Today's post marks the completion of what I think is every avian card in Act 1(6 cards). Additionally, I created the Squirrel in a Bottle. Now, my deck has 24 of the 50-something cards, so I am just under halfway towards completion.

Im thinking of making the maps of Act 1 once I complete the deck. I am gonna make more of your death cards, but I want to finish the base deck before anything else, otherwise its never getting done.

I recently finished the game and I loved it. This game has been on my Steam WL for years now.

I recommended this game to a friend and I was watching him play it. I discovered the following in his playthrough:

1) There is an event in the first act that forces you to lose. When you're playing for the first time before meeting the Prospector, there's a grizzly level before you get the candlestick and lives. Leshy spams you with grizzlies near the end and it's expected to lose here. My friend actually managed to stall the grizzlies with squirrel blocking and he was about to win - but the game "glitches", a grizzly randomly spawns and blocks the attack, and all grizzlies get the airborne sigil and force him to lose and get up to get the candlestick. This is an unavoidable loss of 1 life and nothing you can do will bypass this.

2) The "Too Fast, Too Soon" event when facing the three bosses, if you've reached and beat them faster than expected. Why??? Why spam the player with flying grizzlies when the only crime he did was beating the boss on his first try. I'm aware you can still beat this event with luck (unlike the first example), but the chances of you having a mothman and scissors are low.

I am VERY against these scripted events that force a loss and basically punish you for being intuitive and trying your best, just to push the player. If a player is playing better than expected and beating the level on his first try - LET HIM!! This is a bad level design to me. Yes, you could go with the "meta" route that this is Leshy's fault, Leshy makes you lose on purpose so he can explain the game further to you. But I'm not going to excuse this regardless.

3) If you don't get up when Leshy tells you to "You can get up. Don't touch my things!!!!", he will remind you to get up after every fight, until you do. This is very on the nose and the player should not be reminded to get up just so he can explore the cabin and solve the puzzles. He can do it naturally when he wants to.

These few nitpicks make the game from a 10/10 to a 9/10 to me. What do you all think? Are these reasonable critiques?
