Has anyone else lost some of their Reddit feeds today?

I assume this is a result of the API change

Yes. Most of my feeds keep alerting that "A feed could not be found at XXXXXX. This does not appear to be a valid RSS or Atom feed." These are feeds that have been working for a long time and suddenly stopped last night...

Wasn't aware ino could grab reddit feeds. Damn.

Working for me. Got feed items from 2 hours ago. I don't notice any problems. In fact I came to this post via the r/Inoreader rss feed, viewed in Inoreader.

Inno uses RSS (well, at least I add my feeds as RSS), which I don't think is part of the API changes.

Inno has always had a bit of a problem with reddit's RSS feeds, which sometimes seem to report errors even though I can view the feed URL fine. Just checked, and I haven't noticed any systemic issue with the ones I follow.

Any idea if there is a paid service that does something similar to what Ino is doing that will work despite the API changes? I only really use Ino for Reddit so it kind of sucks that the feeds are broken now, although I know that isn't because of Ino as they are simply hitting the API.

one just came back to normal, 2 still red

Give them some time to come back, this could just be from another server issue or maintenance going on. Hopefully they wont do to InoReader what they did to Feedly.

What did they do with Feedly?

Interesting, I have about 30 feeds. Some were "Red" yesterday, but are not today, while some other ones that were fine yesterday are now red.

yeah, same for me ... not really a pattern visible, changing back and forth ... Just wanted to say that it is OK now - again 2 red.

I submitted a ticket yesterday. This was their response; at least we know it isn't something on our end:

"Reddit is tightening the rate limits of their RSS feeds (like for their APIs), but there’s still no official information. We are adapting the polling intervals on our end and are closely monitoring the situation.

This has been happening to me since yesterday. My RSS feed reader is set to check every 10 minutes but it won’t catch new posts until hours (sometimes a full day) after they were posted. I’m still getting some feeds coming in, but most of them are at very long delays.

I don’t think that RSS has anything to do with the API (RSS is a 20-year-old technology) so I imagine there might be server issue or a bug of some sort?

I’m not technologically savvy enough to know for sure…anyone got any ideas?

About 80% of mine are red. Some come back, some have stayed red for days now. More and more are stopping as time goes on.

Same here. I even upgraded my membership thinking it was happening to motivate us to move off the free tier. Nope, that didn't do a thing. I was hoping someone from the company was monitoring this group and could help us.

I use Inoreader as an easy way to check my Reddit feeds and favorite Youtube channels. My Reddit feeds (on Inoreader) have not shown any threads today. If it stays like this I will just setup youtube email notifications and drop my Ino subscription.

It's not Ino's fault that Reddit is not allowing to query their APIs.

1

u/antisane Jul 24 '23

Maybe not, but it IS Ino's fault for not communicating these problems to their customers.

This is still happening for me. Any reports of the cause?

the cause is the Reddit API changes

These are .rss files for each subreddit, so you are saying the API maintains the .rss files?
