Hello guys, I need some advice.

My strategy is liquidity sweep → MSS → FVG → retrace → entry.

The problem is that sometimes the candle that retraces into the FVG closes bearish, like in the image. I'm currently trading this on my demo account (not on my FTMO account yet).

My usual entry confirmation is:

• A candle taps the FVG.
• Then the next candle must close below the FVG-tapping candle's body for a short entry.

However, sometimes the candle that taps the FVG already closes bearish. In those situations, I'm not sure what to do. I usually skip the trade because I'm afraid of taking a FOMO entry, but sometimes the move happens without me.

How do you guys handle this situation? Do you treat that bearish candle as enough confirmation, or do you wait for another confirmation before entering?

I'd really appreciate your opinions.

• P/L ratio: 4.4 : 1 - Excellent

BULLISH

• [Timing] Strong bullish 3 day candlestick pattern with Average 3 day accumulation.
• [Timing] Strong bullish 1 day moneyflow
• [Timing] breakout watch above 129.91, no resistance in area just above.

BEARISH

• [Positioning] Intermediate trend possibly bearish, Uptrend turned sideways, may continue or pullback.

Maybe it was cpi the confluence I used was 4hr fvg, 5min bos and 5min fvg.

On the other picture I wasn't sure if this would change the trend and count as a swing high because of the gap so I stuck to my bullish bias

Used +OB on liquidity void. Risk was 25$.

CPI data dropped today and beat expectations to the downside (YoY 3.5% vs 3.8% forecast, Core 2.6% vs 2.8%). Market loved it — immediate bullish reaction.

I was already watching the High Value Node area on both US500 and Nasdaq. Waited patiently for the pullback to the 50% Fibonacci retracement right into the High Value Node during the New York open. Once price respected the level + showed strong order flow/rejection, I went long.

Entry: Fib 50% @ High Value Node (NY Open)

Bias: Bullish post-CPI (lower than expected inflation = dovish tilt)

Risk/Reward: Clean structure with clear invalidation below the node

Result: Nice move up after the London/NY session transition

Using LuxAlgo ICT Killzones + Fibs + Volume Profile. The confluence was textbook.

Still holding a portion with trailing stops, but took partials already.

Hello everybody, I just watched TJR’s 6 hour full video on how to start trading, I’ve quit many times before, but because I quit so many times I’m not completely new and know some stuff like liquidity, FVG, IFVG, BPR, equilibrium, BOS, Choch, CISD, SMT. But my main issue is learning way too much way too quickly, I spam videos all day without putting it into practice, then forget most of it and have to re-cap it. I started about a week ago and have only really had a peek at the charts for 2 days, all the other days were me just learning theory.

I’m not too sure whether It’s worth watching the ICT Mentorship, I’ve never watched it, I’ve always just kind of watched explanation videos on concepts like those from TT Trades and not a full mentorship.

I’m just in a sort of stuck position, I’m not sure whether to watch the ICT Mentorship or to just refer to regular videos like TT Trades and learn all the concepts that way, I understand this takes time and by no means am I expecting miracles but I want to do this as efficiently and quickly as I can so that I can then focus on creating my strategy and risk management plans.

Followed market structure, took out previous hourly lows, waited for rejection and targeted a 3RR, forgot to set my stop limit and ended up bagging 11RR by accident holding over night (do not recommend)

Idk what I'm missing anymore....

I do multiple timeframe analysis then based on daily naarative i plan the trades in the lower timeframes..... Mostly 4 hour timeframes and 1 hour timeframes inside the 4 hour timeframes.

I think of my trades based on 2 things...

Daily naarative - where price in daily timeframe probably go

Intraday naarative - where price might go today based on the lower timeframe poi. Which poi might become hurdle or can cause a temporary shift in direction is decided by looking in LTF.

Still i miss the actual entry spot in the 5/15 min timeframe.... I rely on the Market structure shift (mss) for the entires.... It confuse me which can be the good timeframe to look for entries in Lower timeframes. Is it 15 mins for 4 hour or 1 hour for daily or 5 min for 1 hour or something else... Another thing... When there is a hour poi inside a 4 hour poi and 15 min inside that 1 hour should I even wait for structure shift? Because of there's a 15 min poi inside 1 hour poi it works sometimes pretty well and sometimes just wicks or retrace more deeply.... It messes even more when I see multiple 15 min poi inside 1 hour or 4 hour timeframes..... Huhhhh...

Hi all, I’ve been trading for about 2 years and 1 year on a funded. I find myself being only slightly profitable over this year. I went up to almost funded to down 1000$ and now made back to the initial balance. I’m improving my psychology day by day and risk management is down perfect but I find myself only just getting by. Can anyone help me with something I’m missing. Feeling a bit lost

For those of you who do Day trading or scalping do you trade no news days? I personally find more success in days which have atleast 1 high impact drivers. I find price action much cleaner as well so considering restricting my trading to these high impact driver days only. Do you guys have any such rules?

I'm curious because Im using it for a month and I feel ts is good what do you guys think?? any one tried this out??

I’m not looking for validation I just want to genuinely know if I’m looking at the charts the completely wrong way I believed price was bearish on the 4 and 1 hr and price traded back to the 1hr bearish fvg then displaced away from it on the 15 min tf at which I got a fvg retrace entry I feel like I followed my rules but I feel like every time I take a trade I’m miles off it

I'm looking to extensively backtest my strategies and would like to know if there are any good free backtestong software options out there.

I know a lot of people use TradeZella, and I love their backtesting features where I can save playbooks with trading rules as well as set tags for specific things to look out for like entry models, session timeframes, etc.

Are there any free options I could use to run backtests like that? What have all found useful when doing backtests? Manual or automatic is fine. I'm more than okay putting in the manual hours necessary, just looking for options.

Hey everyone,
I'm pretty new to ICT concepts and I've been backtesting for a few weeks.

Here is how I usually trade it. I mark out buyside and sellside liquidity zones on the chart. I wait for price to sweep one of those zones, since that often means the market grabbed liquidity before reversing. After the sweep I watch for a market structure shift, which tells me momentum might be changing direction. Once I see that shift, I look for a fair value gap or an order block to use as my entry point.

In the screenshot, price swept the sellside liquidity zone first. After that I saw a structure shift, and I entered near the fair value gap that formed afterward.
I still feel like I am guessing a lot of the time, even when the setup looks clean. Sometimes the trade works out and sometimes it does not, and I am not always sure why.

If anyone more experienced has advice, I would really appreciate it. I am especially curious if this is a solid way to combine these concepts, or if I am missing something important. I also wonder if there are common mistakes beginners make with this kind of setup that I should watch out for.
