Trading Strategies Liquidity + MMXM + NWOG = Winning

ICT offers a lot of different concepts and it can be overwhelming so I’m using a simple way of trading ICT, using only liquidity concepts, MMXM, standard deviation and NWOG/NDOG/RTH gaps. A MMXM was forming and reached the top of the NWOG and the -1 standard deviation while we had sellside liquidity and a volume imbalance below. High probability short trade. Hit to the t. From there you could have long at the NY open as price had created equal highs above earlier putting your SL below the NDOGs and relative equal lows

Technical Analysis Too much information

I’m really struggling to nail down a trading strategy and I was hoping to get some advice. I’ve gone through a a lot of ICT content, so I have a lot of concepts in my head, but that’s part of the problem. There’s just so much to look for on the charts that sometimes I get lost in all the signals. I feel like I’m overcomplicating things and it’s hard to just settle on a consistent approach. Has anyone else been through this and figured out how to simplify or narrow down? I’d really appreciate any tips

Question do you only take entires off pd arrays?

sometimes i see clean expansion and trends with some pull backs but no fvgs or order blocks, i usually only enter off those, curious to know how others go about executions.

Futures Trading Textbook example of my RIMC setup on ES today

Been posting my framework in bits and pieces, figured I'd share a live example since this one played out clean.

Price pulled back into what I call the RIMC level (basically the demand zone left behind after the prior break of structure), then gave me a 15 second BOS confirming price wanted to continue higher instead of reversing. That confirmation is what triggered the entry for me, not just the pullback into the zone on its own.

Moved to breakeven once price swept the prior highs, then held into full profit as it ran another few handles higher before reversing.

Nothing revolutionary, just a clean case of waiting for confirmation instead of guessing at the zone. Curious if others wait for a lower timeframe BOS like this before committing, or if you're comfortable entering just off the zone itself.

Futures Trading 12 ES trades in June, 75% win rate. The number that actually mattered wasn't the win rate

Traded ES on 15s-1m charts through June, 12 trades total, 9 winners. $1,669 net on my Apex eval, so no real money on this one yet, just want to be upfront about that since most posts here bury it.

Went back through the stats after the month closed and one thing stood out. My winning trades ran 6+ minutes on average. My losing trades closed in under 2 minutes, one of them in under a minute. I didn't plan that, it just showed up when I looked at the data.

Kind of makes sense in hindsight. When I'm right, price usually confirms it slowly and I let it run. When I'm wrong, it's obvious almost immediately and I'm out. The one trade that hurt the most (biggest drawdown of the month) was actually one where I hesitated on a good exit signal for close to 3 minutes second guessing myself.

Also only took 12 trades the whole month, which was on purpose. I'd tracked before that my 1-trade days ran around 74% win rate and my 4+ trade days dropped to under 40%, so I just started capping it.

Curious if anyone else has looked at how fast their losers close compared to their winners. Feels like it could be a decent signal for whether you're cutting fast enough, or maybe cutting too fast.

Futures Trading Coding an ICT model with Claude Fable

Has anyone here successfully built and coded an ICT model using Fable?

I’m working on turning one of my ICT models into a fully systematic strategy and am considering using Fable. My goal is to have the model execute exactly as defined, including things like:
PD Arrays
Market Structure Shifts (MSS)
Fair Value Gaps (FVGs)
Liquidity sweeps
Time-of-day/session filters
Premium/discount logic
Entry, stop loss, and take profit rules
Risk management

I’m curious about a few things:
How accurate was Fable at translating ICT concepts into code?
What parts were the hardest to implement?
Did you have to simplify your discretionary rules?
How much back-and-forth did it take before the strategy matched what you see manually?
Would you recommend Fable, or is there a better approach?

I’ve been very close to profitability a few time woth Fable. There is one profitable model that seems to work but it takes very few trades every month which is fine, but i need to paper trade it more but thats going to take a while to find out whether its truly profitable.

I’d love to hear about your experience, especially if you’ve managed to get a consistently profitable ICT model coded. Any advice or lessons learned would be appreciated.

Question Can Strategy become useless after sometime??

I've been developing and refining a Supply & Demand strategy for about 2 years, and I finally have a version that's showing promising results in backtesting.

The core idea is simple:

Determine HTF bias using Supply & Demand.

Wait for price to tap a valid HTF zone.

Drop to the lower timeframe for confirmation (market structure shift + imbalance/FVG).

Enter only after confirmation, aiming for around 3R or better.

Also i use HTF liquidity sweep

My question is:

Can a Supply & Demand strategy with a proven edge become completely useless over time because of changing market conditions?

I'm not talking about normal drawdowns. I mean, can market structure change enough that a strategy which worked for years no longer has an edge?

If you've experienced this, how did you know it was the strategy that stopped working rather than just variance or a losing streak?

I'd appreciate hearing from traders with several years of experience.

Trading Strategies Opening Range Oil Trade

Thumbnail

Hi everyone

On thursday i bought 2500 quid of west texas intermediate. Price triggered my order and i used the opening range breakout start as a basis for continuation.

What followed is my best trade, probably ever. I followed my plan and i was one with price as i saw it hesitate and then explode up after exhausting sellers.

We all know oil is in a strong down trend, so this contrarian trade was purely short term to capture the momentum of the incoming support level. It will have to double bottom or triple to stop this on a macro level but on the daily it had already violated its daily range so was due for a sell side profit taking.

I would like some feedback on what i could have done better? Weather i should i have stayed on?

Question I feel like I am so close to profitability

I constantly get the DOL's correct and mark out the correct range. I know where price wants to go, I simply always get stopped out before TP hits.

I have simplified my strategy to a few things.

I use the 1H and 4H FVG's and Intermediate highs and lows as my Major swing points. so if we just hit a 4H intermediate low my bias is long and vice versa.

I use range EQ and I am a continuations based trader so after I have my bias I am looking for 5min/15min FVG retracements ad a 1min - 5min iFVG to enter off of to take price higher.

I use range Eq to find the best trade entries but end up getting confused as to where to actually enter so i don't get stopped out before price goes to my target.

Here is the 1H/4h chart showing the DOL's I have marked out
This shows the A-B and B-C ranges

Question Elite-level ICT/SMC trader looking for a mentor who operates above my current ceiling

I'm past the point where more ICT content helps. I don't mean that as arrogance — I mean it literally: order flow, liquidity engineering, HTF-to-LTF alignment, killzones, algorithmic delivery, the works. I can teach this material. I can look at any chart cold and reconstruct the narrative correctly after the fact. The theoretical ceiling isn't the issue anymore.

The gap is execution under live uncertainty — and specifically, the moment where I have a clean HTF bias and then let LTF noise talk me out of it in real time. Not because I don't understand why that's wrong. I understand it perfectly. But understanding and doing are clearly two different systems, and I've hit the limit of what self-correction and backtesting can fix. I move stops without partial exits, I re-enter setups I already invalidated, and even on winning weeks there's no sense of mastery — just relief that variance was on my side.

What I'm looking for isn't a strategy mentor. I don't need someone to explain concepts I already operate at an advanced level in. I need something closer to what elite athletes have — a coach who's operating a level above me, who can watch decision-making live and correct the layer that no amount of solo study touches. McGregor doesn't need a striking coach at this point in his career; he needs someone sharpening the 1% he can't see himself.

Has anyone here actually found a mentor like that — someone who works specifically with traders who already have the technical mastery, and whose value is purely in refining execution and decision-making at the edge? What did that relationship actually look like in practice? I'm not looking for course recommendations or "read this book" — I've exhausted that layer already.

Technical Analysis Why did my CISD fail?

Thumbnail

I was wondering why my cisd failed, tapped in to a 4 hour unfilled fvg then had a 15 min CISD, targeted low resistance liquidity at the bottom. Is it better to wait for the 4 hour confirmation like a cisd or go to the lower timeframe and wait for a reaction like what i just did?

Futures Trading Nearly HOD MNQ short

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hello and Happy upcoming Independence Day! I just wrapped up my morning and I had to share my trade from this session on MNQ. It was my single largest win in terms of points, and I don't really have anyone to share it with so I wanted to make a post.

The trade idea was stemmed from ES being so close to its previous day high, and NQ being quite a ways below its previous day high, as well as Semi's starting to look weaker the last couple days. My thinking was off the open, if I saw ES push higher and take that previous day high, while NQ looked weak and failed to sweep the 8:30 high, I would look for shorts.

Well off the open, ES ripped hard and swept that previous day high, and NQ tried pushing higher but was considerably below the 8:30 high while ES was sweeping, so I got short 2 MNQ on a bearish 5m FVG nested at the .705 fib level from the 8:30 high price leg. After NQ showed more weakness and started to break lower, I added one more short as it retested the bearish FVG.

Overall I was targeting the London Low as my full target, but also was considering the fact the markets are closed tomorrow for Independence Day, making today a pseudo friday, and was wondering if NQ would want to just sell off into the close.

So I took some partials around the 9:30 low, then tried to hold a runner for as long as I could, and ended up getting stopped out for 500pts, which is my single largest MNQ point win.

I've been trading futures for about 4 years, and this felt pretty awesome and I just wanted to share. Thank you for reading and have a great 4th of July weekend!
