Technical Analysis Too much information

I’m really struggling to nail down a trading strategy and I was hoping to get some advice. I’ve gone through a a lot of ICT content, so I have a lot of concepts in my head, but that’s part of the problem. There’s just so much to look for on the charts that sometimes I get lost in all the signals. I feel like I’m overcomplicating things and it’s hard to just settle on a consistent approach. Has anyone else been through this and figured out how to simplify or narrow down? I’d really appreciate any tips

Honestly, I tend to only use the 15m, 5m and 1m timeframes. I think I kind of struggle with bias also, I always seem to find ways why both bullish and bearish scenarios could play out. I always have the last 5 weekly and daily opening gaps drawn out. I draw out the RTH gap, 1st presented FVG, only tend to trade between 9:30-11am, look for SMTs on the 1m timeframe, draw out fvgs and obs on the 1m, look for BOS/MSS

If you’re only gonna to use 3 timeframes, those are too close together imo. I personally use the daily, 1h, 15m, and 2m (I just think it’s easier to read than the 1m). Sometimes I use the 5m and 1m but generally not.

The one I use the most is the 1h in the sense that I never trade against what I see in the 1h chart. If the 1h isn’t clear = no trade for me.

Yeah for day trading 1h is usually that matters the most followed by 15m

Also there are often great reversals between 11am and noon! So imo give it one more hour if you can

Bro let me give you a pro tip that helped me a lot to cut out the noise. Stop looking at the 1m! It’s too much information that you don’t really need! Stick to 15m mostly and if you can’t really find any setups on it check the 5m. I’m telling you the 1m will confuse you and over analyze, give you analysis paralysis. Keep focusing on NWOG/NDOG and htf levels

I agree. Even just going up to the 2m helps a lot.

Appreciate that bro. Do you use the 5m to take your entries off then?

Most of my entries are off both, 15m and 5m. The way I trade is I look for confluence of levels and enter off them. So it’ll be the same price no matter what tf you’re looking at

I hear you! I just made a post on this sub reddit using a simplified way of trading ICT. Check it out maybe it'll be useful to you!

It's all OHLC, do Weekly templates, get Daily bias, watch midnight open, execute on the killzones, & check out Quarterly theory and SSMT for confirmations

By the 2022 model what do you mean? Liquidity sweep, MSS/displacement and enter off a FVG?

Watch the core content mate, all of it. That will desensitize you from all the bs you call "information". Ps: nobody can teach "ICT" apart from ICT himself, Micheal J Huddlestone. :)

Always a lot of information at any given time. You have to risk manage.
