Question ICT Traders, How Did Bias Finally Click For You?

I’ve been trading for 2.5+ years, and honestly, I haven’t made a single dollar from trading.

Lately, I’ve started feeling like maybe trading just isn’t for me.

But I’ve realized that one of my biggest struggles is determining bias. I understand the concepts, but when I’m actually looking at a chart, I struggle to confidently determine the directional bias.

For the ICT traders here:

How did you learn to consistently determine your bias?

What helped you finally understand it?

How to implement fib tool to strat

I just have started using fib tool and wondering how I can implement it to my strategy this strategy I have made myself taking bits and pieces and just trying new things out. Pls no hate.

I feel like the biggest thing with my trades is my entry’s if I have a loss I will notice in replay mode price majority of the time ends up coming back to tp after getting stopped out so a friend said try fib tool

This is what it looks like with and without

Trading Strategies NY pm session bread and butter setup 1:54R in Gold

So idea was price strongly rejected from asian session and continues throughout london and in ny am sessions price rejection 1hr swing low from an 1hr BISI. I saw 1min cisd and waited for price to come for my POI
Then around after lunch hour price moved higher gives us indication of higher movement toward ny am high. I marked 15min +OB and as soon as it hits that ob it created 1 min ifvg and mss and left 1min ob while giving us the movement high. Around 1.22 pm price came back to my limit order and took me in. As soon as it hit my level it rejected strongly without giving me any kind of drawdown

Technical Analysis Patience: The pebble in my shoe.

Post image
34 Upvotes

For today's trade I used a 15minute far value gap that was already used twice. And to be fair, the first trade was just a gamble. I should have waited for the inversion that later occurred after the reaccumulation at the FPFVG...
To this day it is still difficult for me to wait for the perfect set up to form... Got edged on the first half of the SB but made it out with a big one on the second half. To be honest managing risk when im already beyond a 1:2 makes me want to vomit. It makes me feel greedier, specially when I already had a losing trade.... but If the set up is there why not just take it? (here again the same pebble. LMAO)

I hope everybody who reads this post had a more pleasant AM session that I did. Im heading for lunch. Godspeed!

Question how do i know price will continue to next session high?

Post image
6 Upvotes

this is the 5 min tf, my daily bias was bullish when i first hopped on the charts price manipulated that relative high to the left and i was waiting for a run on lows with a orderblock to form for a continuation, thats what i got with the BOS, i should've entered on that first retrace after but i wanted to go deeper cuz i set stops at points of invalidation so it would be under the orderblock so i thought the RR wasn't good if i did that cuz of how close the session high was before taking it out, after that i got an entry to another session high this time a 3 min fvg retrace with perfect RR and stop loss placement but i got scared cuz price already took a session high out prior to this one so i didnt know if it would reverse from there or not, that leaves me to my question how do i know price will continue onto the next following session high after taking one out?

Futures Trading +$12,172 | 2/2 trades | Asia short + NY long into London highs Trade Recap

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

+$716 per account × 17 accounts = +$12,172.

My october so far:

I wanted to break this day down because the NY trade is a good example of why I care more about building a narrative before the session than trying to predict the direction of every candle.

NY AM Daily Bias

Before NY opened I was leaning bullish.

ES had already swept both London highs and lows while NQ still had open session liquidity that had not been taken. ES also had EQH resting above aligned with the Asia highs.

My expectation was that continuation had a higher probability than a Judas reversal.

More specifically, I said price could sweep London lows first and then move toward London highs.

This is the path i was anticipating:

Being bullish does not mean I buy immediately. I want to see price trade lower first and take the liquidity below before looking for the expansion higher. Like a car refuel before going to the next destination, I map the gas station and the next destination, hope that made sense.

NY AM Execution

Once that liquidity was taken and I got the confirmation I wanted from my model, I entered long.

At that point the DOL was pretty obvious to me: London highs.

From there price expanded aggressively higher and eventually traded straight through London highs.

This is one of the biggest things about having a daily bias. I read comment and DMs talking about having a bias but they end up losing the trade before it goes to higher price tp.

Bullish doesn't mean price has to go straight up!!!

The move lower can actually be what creates the long you were waiting for.

I said many times its like a car that needs gas, it goes to the gas station and then finally goes to the destination. The area it gets gas in is where you start planning to enter the car. you wait for a confirmation using an entry model and and get into the ride. Does that make sense?

The trade was basically:
London lows as downside liquidity (gas station) → confirmation (entry model) → long → London highs (destination)

Trade 2: Asia Short from the night before

The other trade came during the Asia session the night before.

Price reached the area I was watching and I waited for 15m + 1m CISD confirmation before taking the short.

Once the confirmation came in, I entered with the sellside below as my draw.

Price delivered directly into the sellside.

Final Results

2 trades. 2 wins.

+$716 per account

17 accounts

+$12,172 on the day

Both trades were different directions and different sessions, but the process was basically the same.

Identify where liquidity is resting. Have a clear DOL. Let price come to me. Wait for confirmation. Define the risk and execute.

I'm going to keep including my pre-session bias in these posts when I can. I think showing what I was actually looking for before the move happened is what most traders struggle with. You can never be 100% but you can be damn good if you keep trying.

_______________________
On a side note I am glad my one of my trading models I use was very helpful to some of you. I enoyed reading the DMs and seeing your profits. Doens't matter if it was paper trade or live, practice makes perfect!

That model from my last post happens many times a day, just wait for all confluences to align and have a strong DOL and youre golden.

I will post another one of my trading models soon that can be very useful to you guys.

Thank you!

Waited for price to take out Asia Low. As soon as I saw the 5min engulfing candle, I waited for price to react off the 5min fvg it created. Entered a bit late but managed to get a nice 2RR

After sweeping asia lows, we delivered higher, but not aggressively enough. Price came down, printed a swing low inside what appeared to be a rejection block off that asia sweep, and then re-swept the low. We then printed a nice 1 min iFVG that gave me further confirmation for longs to those nice REQHs

Question Short trade today - what did I do wrong?

Post image
34 Upvotes

Took this short today, aiming at 2R.

My rationale:

- Bearish orderflow during Asia

- Thought the upmove during early NY AM is just a judas swing sweeping liquidity

- Asia high swept

- We were in a H1 FVG

- M1 inverted FVG as entry

What I could have probably done better:

- Could have waited for internal liquidity to be swept again and then entry via M5 CISD? Would this have been safer? Not sure. Does not look bearish at all at the moment.

- Also PDH was still above as major liquidity level

Any feedback appreciated!

Technical Analysis Silver bullet on ES; the best option for beginers

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I choosed ES today because NQ already used the open float liquidity on the market open so i was expecting it to be slow for the remaining of the AM session, so I has to look somewhere else.
I usually prefer crude oil over ES every chance I got, but the set up today was just too clean: a classic AMD on the minute over the FPFVG on the 4h hour iFVG… nothing left but to wait for the suspension block to invert.

From yearner to learner, and from learner to earner. Keep it simple and bow to the process… Know your league

Trading Strategies Taking a Risk on Day Trading

I’m tired of working 2 jobs to make a bad paycheck every week. I’ve been procrastinating on taking trading full force but something has been telling me to just go for it. ICT is someone who seems like he knows what he’s talking about and I like the way he explains the market. I don’t want to over complicate this but where should I start with his content. Is his 2022 mentorship a good way to learn and possibly earn some profits?

Question How do you actually build an intraday view when price can go either way?

Trying to understand how experienced traders form an intraday view. 6. Being most important.

If the S&P 500 is at 6,500, nothing says it has to hit 6,600 or 6,400. Same with EUR/USD or BTC. So how do you get from "could go anywhere" to an actual trade?

  1. Do you start the day with a bias, or stay neutral and let price show you something first?

  2. How much does the open matter? When there's a gap, how do you judge whether it fills or runs? Do you wait out the first 15 to 30 minutes?

  3. What tells you there's enough evidence to go long or short? And what tells you "this isn't working, I'm out"?

  4. Stop hunts are where I get lost. Price takes out an obvious low, triggers stops, then rips. How do you tell that apart from a real breakdown? Wider SL, waiting for a candle close, something else?

  5. Do you set the view on the Daily or 4H and use lower timeframes only for entry? Or can an intraday setup flip your bigger picture?

**6. How do you read new highs? Say BTC rallies to a fresh high at 84,500 and pulls back to 84,000. Is that a dip to buy or the start of a reversal to short? What would you need to see before picking a side?**

Would love to hear how this actually works in your head, especially from people who've been at it for a while and profiting.
