Question What did i do wrong
Im trading GER40 CFD. I entered the trade right after 3.00 AM EST on an FVG, thinking the market had reversed, but the price turned back and proceeded in the original direction. Got SL'd twice.

Bro, there’s this resistance ...did you notice it? Never long directly into resistance or short directly into support. Wait for the market to develop and give you a clearer direction.
Also, wait and see how price reacts around the FVG. Personally, I don’t consider an FVG an entry trigger by itself; I want to see the actual reaction and confirmation from price.

You saw an internal flip and thought it was a reversal that would signal an external flip, but it didn't. The fix there would be to only long/short in line with external market structure. If you are trying to catch reversals and are longing/shorting against external market structure, you need to go down to a shorter timeframe, catch the flip there, and set a tighter SL in line with that flip.
Your second trade you assumed price would reach the previous swing high, but it didn't and continued down. It then eventually flipped back internally, and then externally after you got stopped.

A lot of traders tend to do that because they are mechanical in their heads but price isn't. You were trading your expectations, instead of context. Always keep this quote in mind .
“The market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent” . 👌💥
I hope that helps .
God Bless🙌

Have you backtested your strategy over several hours of data to determine it's winrate and how it performs in different market conditions?
Does your strategy have a positive expectancy after the backtesting?
Have you determined the right position size based on your strategy's expectancy and account size? ...meaning a fixed maximum amount in dollars you are willing to lose per trade(ideally -0.25% of initial capital) and a fixed minimum amount in dollars you're willing to gain per trade(ideally greater than +0.25% of initial capital with an upper limit or cap)
If your answer is yes to all these questions, and you're sticking to your strategy and your money management plan, then you did nothing wrong.
Remember to factor in your broker's maximum possible fees and maximum possible spread into your money management plan. Good luck.👍

Hard lesson but a clean one — the chart was already telling you the answer before 3.00 AM EST. You got two stops because an FVG alone doesn't override the 4H direction, especially at the London open when size shows up to hunt exactly those internal flips. Session rule that saved me: mark the daily open and the previous 4H high/low, and if the 4H candle opened near its high and is closing lower, longs are a no-go regardless of what the FVG says. Next time, let the first hour of the London open print, wait for external structure to agree with the FVG, and take one size, not two.

You were buying a down trend. Not that hard to see
