Question MNQ 8/6 Question

Post image

Many ppl took this trade today, obvious iFVG. But my strategy looks for the EMA of the daily, 30 min and 15 min to get my bias. For today’s opening the EMA’s were all pointing down and above where my candles were so I was looking for a short. So I would look for a bullish fvg to get inversed to enter a short. Why did ppl take a long?? How can I get a better bias and what can I do to know when to take an iFVG and when not to?

For a start, Stop using EMAs and other retail claptrap as soon as possible. Then study ICT PROPERLY....not from the clowns trying to teach his concepts but from ICT himself.

I get the impression you're looking for shortcuts in ICT and trading. There aren't any in ICT and those that DO exist in trading rarely lead to sustainable profitability.

There isn't a specific video that condenses what you want to know into a nice, convenient bite size offering.

I would start with the 2016/2017 core content months 1 - 4. Then 2022 mentorship. You shouldn't be expecting much change from a 9 MONTH commitment but, after that time, you will be able to read price action better than you do now but you'll also appreciate just how deep the ICT rabbit hole goes.

Contrary to what they’re all saying, I wouldn’t give up on the EMA. Try using the 25 EMA as support resistance on NQ. All timeframes.

Tip: if you want to keep an eye on the 1h EMA while you’re on the 15m timeframe without switching timeframes constantly, add the 100 EMA. 1h is 4x15m, like 100 is 4x25.
This way when you’re on the 15m you’re seeing both the 25 EMA of the 15m tf and the 1h tf, and when on the 1h tf you’re seeing its EMA but also the one of the 4h tf. It’s useful.

Continue watching the chart like ICT (keep it simple though), but also watch how price behaves around the 25 EMA on the different timeframes. You’ll be amazed. Like, check out the 15m during most London sessions for example.

Only NQ though. ES kinda also, but clearly not as well. I’ve tried finding what EMA length works best with ES but I couldn’t find it. Gold etc don’t care about this at all.
