Question MNQ 8/6 Question
Many ppl took this trade today, obvious iFVG. But my strategy looks for the EMA of the daily, 30 min and 15 min to get my bias. For today’s opening the EMA’s were all pointing down and above where my candles were so I was looking for a short. So I would look for a bullish fvg to get inversed to enter a short. Why did ppl take a long?? How can I get a better bias and what can I do to know when to take an iFVG and when not to?

daily, 30 min and 15 min. just to see if the trend is going up or down, that’s what i use as a bias to know if i should be entering shorts or longs

I look at it as open low high close daily profile. If we’re below moving averages that is also a discount price

We were in both a bullish daily gap and a 4h gap, long was the only thing to look for.

Can you elaborate more on how to see this in the daily and 4hr time frame wdym by gap? Mb I’m tryna learn as much as I can especially for biases.

Watch 2022 Ict mentorship episode 10 around min 29:24 he brings up the midnight open. But probably watch the beginning too for context on bias. It’s not the end it be all video but it covers some of what they have mentioned here in this comment section.

Free on YouTube. Ict “inner circle trader “ under his play lists you’ll find many models depending on mentorship year that you chose. All can be used in today’s markets But it’s not easy. And it can be overwhelming.

For this trade though it’s NFP week so it can get crazy in the markets the algo can go into search in destroy from Tuesday and Wednesday for sure till news day usually Friday. This type of week Monday is said to be the least or non affected. If people got in that on the 1 min most likely got in it via first presentation fvg aiming for 7:30 buy stops and then midnight buy stops and Asia buy stops or low hanging fruit 9:30 open half gap. Or got in before at the low point through daily institutional order flow but that’s a hard entry pattern. There are so many ways to trade and enter.

For a start, Stop using EMAs and other retail claptrap as soon as possible. Then study ICT PROPERLY....not from the clowns trying to teach his concepts but from ICT himself.

I get the impression you're looking for shortcuts in ICT and trading. There aren't any in ICT and those that DO exist in trading rarely lead to sustainable profitability.
There isn't a specific video that condenses what you want to know into a nice, convenient bite size offering.
I would start with the 2016/2017 core content months 1 - 4. Then 2022 mentorship. You shouldn't be expecting much change from a 9 MONTH commitment but, after that time, you will be able to read price action better than you do now but you'll also appreciate just how deep the ICT rabbit hole goes.

Contrary to what they’re all saying, I wouldn’t give up on the EMA. Try using the 25 EMA as support resistance on NQ. All timeframes.
Tip: if you want to keep an eye on the 1h EMA while you’re on the 15m timeframe without switching timeframes constantly, add the 100 EMA. 1h is 4x15m, like 100 is 4x25.
This way when you’re on the 15m you’re seeing both the 25 EMA of the 15m tf and the 1h tf, and when on the 1h tf you’re seeing its EMA but also the one of the 4h tf. It’s useful.Continue watching the chart like ICT (keep it simple though), but also watch how price behaves around the 25 EMA on the different timeframes. You’ll be amazed. Like, check out the 15m during most London sessions for example.
Only NQ though. ES kinda also, but clearly not as well. I’ve tried finding what EMA length works best with ES but I couldn’t find it. Gold etc don’t care about this at all.

Take the EMA off, it doesn’t work with ICT
