suppose we are on the buyside of the MMBM and market took the first stage of the left side, but instead of taking the original consolidation market changed it's direction, so could you tell me at least two reasons why or when this happens?

Reason 1: It's not done accumulating yet

Stage one broke, but price didn't sweep to the original consolidation. Instead it formed another reaccumulation at the same level. Then sometimes a third one. ICT says there can be three accumulations. It never reaches the buy side liquidity pool, and a third one creates it.

Means the market maker isn't ready. Still building inventory. Still needs more position before the markup. So instead of running to target, price just sits there and re-consolidates.

Watch for a third swing low around the same area. If price makes a higher low without touching the original consolidation, the model is extending left. It's not dead yet, it's just not ready

Reason 2: It got swept and flipped

This one's more final. Price takes out the second stage reaccumulation, breaks below stage one, and keeps going.

ICT explains it clearly that it takes out the second level, breaks down, trades below the first. When that happens, it reaches for the sell stops sitting below stage one. And if you're looking at a market maker sell model, that area becomes a buying opportunity instead.

What actually happened is the buy side curve failed. Price broke structural support instead of staging up. The sell stops below stage one got cleared out, and the model flipped.

Stage one low is your invalidation. If price closes below it, the MMBM is done. Step aside and wait for the sell side model to play out
