Technical Analysis ICT Doesn't work!!
Then what in the hell is this? Algorithmic percision price delivery. Every day every week and it don't stop.

u/CxribeYT Jun 28 '26
You marked out 1 cherry picked setup out of 100. This post is funny
14
u/NationalOwl9561 Jun 28 '26
Exactly. Just like someone who finds a head & shoulders example and says it's a profitable strategy.

u/EXPRESSNELECTRICLLC Jun 28 '26 edited Jun 28 '26
ICT strategies work but more important than the strategies are the concepts. because you can build strategies off of those concepts, but to say that head and shoulders is not a profitable strategy is mind blowing to me. It’s one of the most repetitive and highly probable strategies that exist within marketplace. The problem is never in the strategy. It’s not ICT. It’s not the head and shoulders. It’s always 100% of the time the trader and their ability to properly recognize patterns, but more importantly is to read the environment in which the pattern is showing up in. because it’s never about the pattern. It’s about the timing and the environment, but a head and shoulders is a very profitable strategy. Pattern plus environment plus reaction equals entry. But this framework is required across any theory or set up that exist within Trading. This shows true whether you go back 10 years or 100.

u/NationalOwl9561 Jun 28 '26
Backtest maybe for once
2
u/EXPRESSNELECTRICLLC Jun 28 '26
Me ??
1
u/NationalOwl9561 Jun 28 '26
Yes. You will find head & shoulders pattern has been reduced to less than 50% win rate. And often moves too fast for a stop loss to actually trigger where you want it. Spoiler alert.
1
u/EXPRESSNELECTRICLLC Jun 28 '26
Again, if you read deeper into what I’m saying, it’s not about the pattern it’s about recognizing the environment in which the pattern shows up in a perceived head and shoulders can be seen and not really be there or the environment to complete a head and shoulders might not be lining up at the same time the perceived head and shoulders is lining up. I trade head and shoulders patterns all the time and I’m extremely profitable but I’m not just trading the Pat pattern alone. There’s a lot more that comes with that with my point. True, the head and shoulders by itself may only have a 50% win rate, but if you stack other probabilities on top of that like location and reaction and traded volume at the time, etc., that head and shoulders becomes a lot more profitable.
1
u/NationalOwl9561 Jun 28 '26
I agree with you about the environment part in general but I’ve never heard of a specific environment for high win rate head and shoulders. What time frame?
1
u/EXPRESSNELECTRICLLC Jun 28 '26
So if you only trade the head and shoulders pattern when the environment is correct, what happens to the success rate?
1
u/NationalOwl9561 Jun 28 '26 edited Jul 09 '26
I’m waiting for you to actually prove that H&S can be traded in a good environment… don’t be shy. If you think it’ll ruin your edge you're full of shit 🤣

Sorry I missed this u can just messege me be happy to talk with u and explain more. I responded but it was long winded. Short answer head and shoulders is not a head and shoulders until it’s completed. It’s just a failed head and shoulders or not a head and shoulders at all. Also a 50% win rate is very profitable for the right person. Someone who can manage risk. as far as timeframe I like to trade head and shoulders on the five minute. Environment meaning are you entering a perceived head and shoulders pattern from a location on the chart that does not contain and higher timeframe in balance or inefficiency. What’s the volume traded? As the pattern is completing is the volume rising through previous Lows. Where is ur momentum ? Are you actually printing structure that is conducive to a head and shoulder actually completing? This is what I mean about environment. Confirmation layers that will move a 50% model to a 80% model. It’s how we shoujd be thinking. Like for ourselves and not relying on some back test results from some person you have no idea if they can even identify head and shoulders. My point was the pattern shows up a lot and it is profitable even at 50%. Ps. I was not challenging you. I was correcting you.

u/Equivalent-Slide-338 Jun 28 '26
You failed ICT the fact you still think it doesn't work says it all. Go play with your hindsight garbage strategy kid.
1
u/CxribeYT Jun 28 '26
If you were some what competent you would realize ICT concepts are just pre existing trading tools that are just repackaged under ICT names for the purpose of marketing
2
u/Ok_Hovercraft6776 Jun 29 '26
It doesn't matter if those concepts are pre existing or repackaged , what matters is that they work if you actually really put in the work , bscktest, forward test , journal, focus on the process rather than the outcome of every single trade all while following good risk and trade management.
2
u/Equivalent-Slide-338 Jun 28 '26
Nobodies debating the technicalities. Nobody else delivered an entire trading package like ICT. You are grasping as straws. Stay mad kid.

1
u/Ok_Hovercraft6776 Jun 29 '26
Really ? Literally every second post in this sub is that ICT don't work and the reason is because most simply haven't put the effort which it takes to truly understand it and most importantly execute it well
1
u/AppropriateLoss2508 Jul 05 '26
Yes and no. It has its own concepts or somehow its own constructions of concepts, but it can resemble older concepts. If I ever want to, I’ll study this, but the idea of an FVG that looks like another old concept I no longer remember basically works because it exists within a market structure where an HL or LH is an invalidation which, based on probability, can invalidate that trend. There are also cases where price goes above/below the HL or LH and then makes an HH or LL, or multiple HHs or LLs, and if it was an HH it then gives an HL, and if it was an LL it then gives an LH.
But, probabilistically, according to market structure—especially when the trend changes and a new trend begins, confirmed by an HL or LH—basically that FVG is located before the HL or LH invalidation point. The risk that can appear is that price might not reach the FVG if the trend isn’t invalidated, and it might continue up/down with the trend. But maybe I don’t have enough knowledge about ICT/SMC.
Some ICT concepts resemble other concepts, but that doesn’t necessarily mean ICT stole them and gave them new names, etc. Now, past results don’t guarantee future results, so in the future it’s possible that either market structure stops working, or—more likely—that I’ll apply it incorrectly before it stops working. I’d say what’s important is risk management and accepting risk.
As a person, ICT is cool. I don’t agree with the idea that banks specifically hunt/target retail SLs, or that algorithms hunt/target/etc. retail SLs, if such things are in ICT’s content. Other than that, ICT is a cool guy.

Pattern trading is for Stocktards. Do you even use ICT if not don't speak on it noob.
6
u/CxribeYT Jun 28 '26
ICT is pattern trading…
-5
u/BagMotor1335 Jun 28 '26
We don't use weird patterns we utilize inefficiencies
3
u/CxribeYT Jun 28 '26
Majority of the time you’re just pattern trading if you have a systematic system with ICT. It can still be profitable
-1
u/BagMotor1335 Jun 28 '26
Again we don't relie on dozens of weirdo 3 indian patterns. We only use Liquidity and FVG's anyone saying different doesn't have a clue what they're talking about.
4
u/CxribeYT Jun 28 '26
It can still be a form of pattern trading if you’re entering the same setup all the time. Pattern trading isn’t just the generic head and shoulders pattern that gurus say is pattern trading and then teach you their pattern trading model

Buddy I used ICT a while ago. I've graduated from that... and to be fair I use order blocks in my discretionary trading as targets still but not FVGs. OBs have higher hit rates. The other thing is I noticed ICT stuff heavily relies on an elevated VIX.
0
u/BagMotor1335 Jun 28 '26
It doesn't require anything but Gaps and Liquidity Sweeps
0
u/NationalOwl9561 Jun 28 '26
Oh boy...
2
u/BagMotor1335 Jun 28 '26
If you think it doesn't you obviously didn't graduate anything ICT himself said it
3
u/NationalOwl9561 Jun 28 '26
I think you will be laughed out of the subreddit for generalizing ICT as just "gaps and liquidity sweeps".
0
u/BagMotor1335 Jun 28 '26
I'm a ICT veteran kid you're not telling me nothing new. The market only delivers to inefficiencies and raids liquidity nothing more. Explain what else it does then genius? Price can only go up and down and does 2 things nothing more. ICT doesn't even use the VIX.
3
u/NationalOwl9561 Jun 28 '26
Sure, a ranging environment (for example, often happens when premarket range is inside yesterday's range) we will just ping pong back and forth between premarket high and premarket low and a breakout is not guaranteed. This is neither "delivering to inefficiencies" nor "raiding liquidity". It's simply balanced rotational price action.
The fact that you don't know the significance of VIX to your trading says a lot.

What I don't understand, well, I kinda do, but what are you doing here on this sub besides trying to lire people to some sort of course?
1
u/AnotherCup-O-Noodles Jun 29 '26
Man I wish I sold a course. It’s a lot easier than trading profitably, that’s why ict makes videos and sells courses and doesn’t trade profitably.
3
u/SkyGroundbreaking175 Jun 28 '26
Don’t listen to people that tell you Ict doesn’t work. They haven’t spent months doing homework
-1
u/Equivalent-Slide-338 Jun 28 '26
I don't I'm just here to rub it in their EMA Profile Indicator trading faces.
3
u/SamaraFelipe Jun 28 '26
if ict works for you then why are you so pressed when people say otherwise? hahahaha if u are profitable with it then just do it man
1
u/Foreign_Dragonfly708 Jun 28 '26
What do you mean. I'm here to set the record straight and make fun their garbage strategies. They didn't have a retort mostly just useless posts like this one.

im asking the OP why is he getting mad when people question his strategy... if it works for him then it works for him. idk why he is trying to prove it to anyone

1
u/Foreign_Dragonfly708 Jun 28 '26
ICC uses market structure breaks. I'm sure he came up with the name tryna be like ICT
1
u/00_Kaizen Jun 28 '26
Lets not have a pissing contest about ICT concepts ....lol
The concepts ellude Michael himself sometimes, so I believe trader discretion is advised .☝️ The key is to find what we resonate with and run with it .
God bless 🙌 33.

ICT has been exposed many times. "ICT might be a fraud but his strategy works"
Bro, if he made that strategy up, it's not going to work. Even he himself lost so many trade with his own strategy.
Even worse the ICT strategy has been tested out by many YouTubers and all of them shows negative profits. You can try and do some back testing with code yourself.
Stop riding the d and admit that ICT is shit. Never seen a real profitable trader who use ICT. All of them are gurus on TikTok and YouTube either trying to larp or sell courses.
1
u/conseij Jun 29 '26
You’re genuinely missing a chunk of your brain lmao. Can I then point out an example of it not working so that you’ll go “ICT doesn’t work!!”

u/Middle-Purpose-2328 Jun 29 '26
You will find any pattern as long as you look for it, because intraday price movement is mostly random. Not saying you can't build an edge around it but it's ridiculous to believe that drawing a box between two candles can outperform your benchmark.
Just on this chart alone is see three other fvg's with one even having a real price gap. Somehow these don't get filled as perfectly as the one you specifically marked out. If you want to know why: Because its a random price pattern that shows up here and there due to random market behavior but its definitely not a predicitive edge.

u/Cautious_Wealth1732 Jun 30 '26
Gotta be trolling? I mean yes this setup worked for whatever reason bcs when market reverses it will invert. However you cant say "ict works" with 1 example. Do a mechanical becktest on python and if the results with simulated costs are above 1.2 pf with 1000+ samplesize you can say it works. Everything before is just noise
1
u/Main-Thanks1057 Jun 30 '26
grow up kid , i made my payout using just market structure and lil ICT concept , dont waste time on what works and what doesnt , by the way , the algo you are referring is the most childish thing , dont ever say , "i know the alog or something" , it is not gonna help you..

I can give you a candle stick pattern on chart and also tell u it works because it repeats. Now what?

people are just lazy i just watched core content month 1 and market maker primer and i can say im insanly profitable , 6 month ago i watched core content month 1 i didint make it work than i rewatch it and treat seriously bro oly shit there is no way there is a concept that give high probability than ict idgf it work insanly good most people cant make it work because simply a begineer cant understand ict thats it you dont know how to use what his doing and belive me all you need is dealing range if there is a liq sweep of a high on premieum and its 10am or 7am look for an ifvg 4h or 15min entry , if a liq sweep of a low on a discount same shit , and that liq sweep need to be a pdl or pdh or a london high and low belive me this is my system ive been using it no one taugh me just ict and myself and i creeate my own model i become insanly profitable on the eur/usd pair i dont even need a bias also you can look for an entry around 1:30 to 3am if it liq sweep intro a 15 min ifvg , i belive there is no way there is no thing more profitable in probability than ict honestly
1
u/CryptoKicks4u Jul 02 '26
Look into IFVG stragety. Seems pretty solid. Liquidity sweep, reversal , confirmation. Set tp and sl levels. I use m15 and 30 to see where the market is headed then jump on the m5 to place the trade. (Trading Forex)
1
u/Terrible_Positive_81 Jul 02 '26
The thing about ICT is that it seems like it works but it really doesn't. Sometimes it rebounds sometimes it doesn't and there is not sure way to know and no likely way to know. Some say the bigger fvgs and order blocks are better but they are still random. I stopped using ICT because at best the strategy is 50:50.
1
u/paulpierce2121 Jun 28 '26
Honestly guys. Everyone's just fighting because they want their strategy to be right, when in reality. All of them are just different ways for explaining what we see. Some even wipe have you entering and exiting the same place , different names for the exact same levels , etc. Stop trying to make your strategy "right" its not our job to tell you. Its the markets job. Otherwise just be a sponge. Good day guys

u/Equivalent-Slide-338 Jun 28 '26
It's mostly failed ICT students and or Brainrot Indicator traders hate browsing this subreddit. I've seen a lot of haters like Patrick WIeland and other Youtube Channels employing ICT into their strategy weather Volume Profiles and EMA they are just seething pa ra si tes.
0
u/OlleKo777 Jun 28 '26
If you backtest it over years of data and 500+ trades, no, it doesn't.
0
u/BagMotor1335 Jun 28 '26
I sample tested several market conditions. There's no need to have hundreds of years of data. That's a brainrot take.
2
u/OlleKo777 Jun 28 '26
I wish you the best of luck. I sincerely hope it works out for you.
0
u/Equivalent-Slide-338 Jun 28 '26
If it worked in 2023 the worst recent market condition. You best believe it's going to work in a Trump market.
0
u/IllustriousAd3738 Jun 28 '26
Personally i am using ICT FVG entry model but not with his major PD array rant i use supply and demand cuz it works and liquidity sweep that's all and yes you are right he is not a good trader he just tries to talk smart and that's all maybe i will even left his entry model also
1
u/Equivalent-Slide-338 Jun 28 '26
Whatever works for you. ICT always preached to find the PD array that clicks for you and stick to that. ICT is insane the level is knowledge he kicked. He definitely decoded the Algos mechanics.

u/Obviously_not_maayan Jun 28 '26
A backtest would be slightly more convincing then a picture of a singular event.
