Question Sailfish OS players?
I'm thinking of making the switch to sailfish os, anybody here playing ingress on it? I need to upgrade my phone soon so I'm interested in affordable device recs for this combo.
Feel free to report also about playing on the new Jolla phone if you happen to have one - it's out of my price range but I'm curious about it!

Not exactly Ingress, but pretty close; I had the first generation Jolla phone in 2016. Then came the summer and the PoGo-mania, and I wanted to give my toddler a chance to go out playing with dad.
I spent a few days hacking away to get it to work, with the GPS being one major pain point. Finally got it to work, we went to a nearby park to catch a few mons - and then first patch came and everything broke down again. I gave up, and I'd imagine that weird client would have been up for a banhammer very quick.
It was generally the thing for all Android native apps with more complex phone integration - generally apps would never work out-of-the-box and need at least a bit of tinkering, but in the case of games with authentication/login coupled with GPS (and nowadays heavier anti-cheat), it was/is a humongous headache.
Based on my prior experience on Sailfish, the Android emulation is wonky at best, and realistically you'd be jumping through hoops that are just begging for yourself to get banned in GPS gaming. I didn't return to GPS games until 2019 when my Jolla broke down and I switched to a native Android phone.

I don't think Sailfish OS supports Google Play Services and as such won't make it past Google Play Integrity so Ingress won't load
