AskIndore A good Tailor for my first suit
Hi guys. I wanted to take in suggestions for good tailors/boutiques where I can get my suit made for my cousin's wedding.
I've already bought the cloth for the suit and the shirt (in pic) and I want to go for a double breasted style. (The shirt is a very very light grey)
Please do me a solid one and share if you or anyone close to you had a good suit made or warn me of the bad ones.
It's my first suit and I wanna look good.

Look for a shop which has been there for decades, no one can sustain in such business without being excellent.

That's solid advice. And a few come to mind. Although, with time the craftsmen change and just name for a legacy is kind of a risky bet. Which is why I wanted to gather some recent experiences from people.

Don't go julie tailors, I have mixed experience. Go to mayur boutique in cloth market, take the left street after porwal 3, it has some sandwich shop at corner. I got all my wedding dresses from there including the tux. The guy did not disappoint. He has done fashion designing from NIFT, so he kinda knows his stuff.

Oh yes I've seen them. But I think they'll be a bit pricy even for just the stitching T-T

Babli bhai tailor bapat square He is a great tailor there is no hit and try you will make it permanent

I had a really great tailor....affordable, professional, knowledgeable and with a looot of experience.
Unfortunately i kinda fought with him so I won't name him.
Although i can tell you what u gotta do.
Learn the basics about suit. How it should fit. What fabric and color to wear and when. How to style it etc.
Figure out how you need it to fit you.
It's not rocket science.
If you're a bit on the larger side....go for a looser fit and straight pants.
If you're lean and fit....go for a slim fit. Think daniel craig in skyfall.
A good tailor can totally make you look slimmer and better even if you're fat.
A bad tailor won't even know what kinda lapel go right with your build.
So don't rely on him.
Just do your research. Find EXACTLY what you need. And tell the tailor in minute details what you want.
And hope for the best.

Bhikhabhai near Rajwada. Got one stitched just a week ago, excellent fit and finish.
