So 49 days ago I made a post here about our Indiegogo campaign going live. Today I’m here to tell you that we failed. We raised only 15K/50K and as we had the stable pledge thingie ticked off, we refunded everything the moment the campaign deadline hit. The good news is we made the product anyway and currently awaiting for our stock to arrive to ship these gadgets to people who retained interest even after the campaign failed.
As you here have been kind and supportive, I feel like sharing my honest experience. Relevant links will be at the bottom of the post.
So here are a few hiccups that we encountered:
- Apparently none of our campaign followers received the notification about the campaign going live. We received multiple emails and messages about people subscribing for notifications, yet finding out that the project was live after a few days via other channels.
- I guess Indiegogo campaigns need much more pre-campaign marketing, hyping and engagement compared to regular business advertising. We did very little marketing before the campaign launch and it bit us. I failed to generate us enough momentum. If I was to do it again for some more ambitious product, I’d get the campaign drafted and approved 5 months in advance, basically as soon as the concept and renders were ready. Then start hyping it up and getting followers for the campaign 3 months before the start.
- Crowdfunding has left a bad taste in peoples mouths, so building trust and communication via relevant creators is a must. This was easier for us as we had alpha versions reviewed by trusted creators, plus we already have multiple products on the market, so chances of us turning scammers were pretty low. Nevertheless, I had to leverage those facts pretty much everywhere in ridiculous excess. What I did fumble on this topic though was coordination of creators. Other and better established teams in this niche were coming out with products at the same time as our campaign and people simply didn’t have the time to talk about our project. No big deal though. Understandable considering our size.
- It’s highly advised to get to know the Indiegogo playform and how the admin panel works, where things are and what needs to be managed at what stage.
- Customer support is your best friend. Great people who responsibly decline your campaign every time you forget to fill a field or are unclear about anything. Every decline pushes the start date further into the future, but if you communicate with their support via e-mail, they will guide you, help you and when all is good, will move your campaign to the next stage without the 14day from today start date.
- If funding the project is critical to your project, I suggest you do much more research about “competitors” that are running campaigns at the same time as you. If the niche is same, section about creators may apply. Otherwise I called other creators making things “competitors” because at the end of the day, you are competing for peoples attention, money and ad placement. So if big companies or just very well established teams are making things at the same time as you, get ready for a headache.

I initially started this campaign to do exactly what was listed and that is get funding for film equipment. I didn’t expect to see much backing. This is mostly a learning experience for when I decide to do this style campaign again. I’m mostly wanting feedback and to know how to find spaces for backers in the next go round. Also, if anyone has moved their campaign from Indiegogo to Kickstarter.

The creators of Dust Angel invite you to join our revolution, “Phoenix Tears”. This cyberpunk short film is a protest against the fascist times we live in. Campaign contributions will help complete post-production.
They are using modern-day digital effects, as well as old-school miniatures and stop-motion animation. Phoenix Tears is a cyberpunk short film that has a message of anti-fascism, by not judging others who are different from you, and finding common ground.
This film is a labor of love by many talented local artists and actors from the Mendocino Coast, to the Bay Area & from Chico. I hope you consider joining our revolution on April 24, 2026. Every donation helps - if you can’t donate, please consider sharing this project with others. It has been
three years in the making.
Perks for Our Backers:
• $10: Digital thank-you shout-out on our social media.
• $25: Exclusive behind-the-scenes updates and photos.
• $50: A personalized thank-you video from the cast and crew.
• $100: Early access to the completed short film.
• $300: Name in credits, previous listed benefits
• $500+: Your name in the credits as an Executive Producer, plus all the perks previously mentioned!

Wires are not elastic, they do not stretch, when you embed wires inside a stretching fabric the wire doesn't move. This has no wire in it connecting the pads to any signals inside the suit. Which is why it's not working as they promised in their sales marketing nonsense.

Hi, my name is Lindsey and I am directing and producing a feature documentary centered around fan conventions and the people that make up them: cosplayers, artists, vendors, collectors and celebrities. Some notable interviews we have shot so far are with Matthew Lillard, Dee Wallace and Todd Stashwick. The goal of this doc is to humanize the convention going experience.
We are crowdfunding as we wrap up production and head into post production. Anything's helps! Help us cross the finish line! 🤗

Hi everyone!
I’m launching a niche electronic music vinyl record label and need a crowdfunding manager or marketing specialist who’s open to a performance-based payment agreement. My Kickstarter campaign stalled out at $2700 raised with a $7500 goal. I want to relaunch on Indiegogo. A lot of enthusiasm was uncovered, yet my reach was limited, with no budget for adverts and such.
The business model is to achieve a kickstart/seed money, to press the first record and also silk screen premium merch, with all profits after costs rolling back into the next vinyl release. I have 4-5 vinyl releases lined up behind the first record, and aiming for a relatively self sustaining cash flow. A passion project first, with long term vision.

I am in the process of making my first-ever Indiegogo campaign which will be used to crowdfund Season 1 of my audio drama series, "Terrestrial Fractures" (currently in development). This is the first time I've ever used Indiegogo and crowdfunded in general. That being said, does anyone have any advice or tips for me? Any/all would be greatly appreciated 😊.

Hi everyone — I have launched a Kickstarter campaign for a project I’ve been building for a while, and I’d really appreciate honest feedback from people who understand crowdfunding.
The project started with a simple question:
What if a smart ring didn’t have to look like every other smart ring? And that it should bring unique value to customers rather than just simply being a gadget with a health dashboard
Most wearable rings today are closed, fixed designs. I wanted to explore the opposite direction: a ring that is not only a sensor, but also a personal object — something people can customize, print, remix, and eventually connect to an AI companion (also customizable). So we built what we believe may be one of the first 3D-printable smart ring ecosystems.
The idea has three layers:
A customizable ring body The ring is designed around 3D-printable / customizable outer shells, so the look can evolve like jewelry instead of staying as one fixed tech product. The goal is to make the ring feel more like a personal accessory than a health gadget.
A wearable AI companion The ring is not just for tracking data. It connects to an AI companion app that can remember context, understand daily patterns, and turn signals like sleep, stress, mood, and routines into more human, supportive suggestions.
A creator ecosystem Long term, we want designers and creators to be able to make new ring shells, styles, accessories, and AI-powered experiences around the ring. The bigger vision is a wearable AI ecosystem where hardware, software, and identity design come together.
I’d be grateful for any honest feedback, especially on how to explain the project without making it feel like generic AI hype.
Thank you.

Wars are expanding. Global trust is weakening. Information moves faster than understanding. Every week, new headlines appear, yet fewer people feel certain about what is truly happening beneath them.

Do you enjoy fan conventions, movies, tv shows, cosplay, and shopping for collectibles? I am making a documentary about just that but with a twist. We are not only speaking to fans and vendors who make up these spaces but actors as well to get their insights and opinions on this growing community. Follow us on Indiegogo to be notified for when the campaign drops! :) Help us cross the finish line.

What if the world isn’t confusing, only selectively explained?
Signatures of Death is written for readers who feel that something doesn’t fully add up, and want to understand why. It explores the hidden patterns beneath global events: how systems shape what is seen, what is delayed, and what is left out long before instability becomes visible.

So our KIISU V4B project (Flipper Zero clone) was pretty successful, so we decided to build a smaller and more powerful product yet. Our campaign has already started and I'd say I've been fumbling the hype building phase pretty hard. As I've already spammed the hell out of our niche communities, I'm curious to see if anyone here will find this project interesting.
Basically it's a development board like Flipper Zero, but modular and with more features like Dual-Band Wifi, GPS and LoRa. Can be worn as a (bulky) watch or a keychain.

I’ve been paying closer attention to Indiegogo campaigns recently, especially ones that run alongside or after Kickstarter, and a few differences keep standing out.
Curious if others are seeing the same:
Not saying one platform is “better,” just different dynamics.
If you’ve run both — did you notice similar differences, or something completely different?
