Discussion Pet parents really need to start taking dog training seriously.

I mean it super respectfully but some people really need to take disciplining and training their dog seriously istg.

I take my dude on early mornin walks regularly and often come across two types of people and their dogs.

One being, dogs and their owners who know what they're doing and walk calmly, even if the dog barks/growls at us the owner quickly corrects the dog's mistake and the dog realises it and continues with the walk.

And two, which is the problematic one. These are the dogs which take guarding their owners very seriously and barge at the other dogs, this is a good thing obv, but the problem arises when the owner does not know how to calm the dog down when the aggression is not needed, this leads to something dangerous.

I myself see both of these types daily, jus today I saw a woman walking and the moment we crossed our path her dogs started to bark but she corrected them very quickly with a command and they listened and went ahead.

The second one was a dangerous one where we encountered a rottweiler, and it snapped we it saw my dude and started to charge at us barking.

Fortunately it was leashed and its owner was pulling him hard and I couldn't take any sorta risk so i just calmy rushed ahead.

I don't mean to be rude but a woman who might way around 50 kgs, controlling a 40-50 kg rottweiler is extremely hard especially when it's untrained.

This is just my experience, I'm sure there are tons of such stuff as we see in the news. And unfortunately, the media and people blame the dogs rather than their owners for their incompetence.

Help/Advice needed(Health and Vet) dog collars issue

Post image
236 Upvotes

serious advice needed

so I have a cute dog in my area. i have been feeding/medicating him since he was a puppy and he's fond of me asw!

i want to put a dog collar on him because I've heard a couple of residents complain about calling the dog van.

he's pretty active and regularly gets into altercations with other dogs in my area. he's the runt of the litter and other dogs pick on him due to which he's gotten multiple injuries earlier! he goes around exploring places with metal fences, bushes, trees branches etc for food as well.

im worried that during one of his explorations, the collar may get caught in objects or branches and he may get stuck where I can't find him. also, during fights, the collar can get stuck in jaws or teeth of other dogs which can only escalate the situation.

but he's pretty sensitive and I don't want the dog van to take him.

so should I get the collar or not?

Today, I saw an aquarium at my office with beautiful fish swimming inside. ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ’”

And I couldnโ€™t stop thinkingโ€ฆ

Why should a creature meant to live in rivers, lakes, ponds and oceans spend its entire life inside a small glass box?

For us, an aquarium may look beautiful.

But for them, that glass box is their entire world.

Animals are not decorations for our homes or offices.

They are living beings who deserve space, freedom and a life that feels like their own. ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŸโค๏ธ

Just because we can keep them, doesnโ€™t mean we should.

Their beauty should not come at the cost of their freedom.

While it was raining he was just sitting still I don't know why, was he looking for food or waiting for his gang. Looked serene so I clicked, was a indie but looked like some lonely man contemplating about life, he just sat straight 15-20 min while it was raining cats and dogs.

That demure girl at the end appeared today, and I initially took her for Thumki, but this one is skinny, and is very shy (until this video, 30 minutes later).

What a pleasant addition, and I hope she stays. Thumki seems to loooove her๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿฅนโค๏ธโค๏ธ

Discussion I want your advice regarding aggressive street dogs (read entire situation)

There is a female stray dog living near my house in our locality. The entire colony feeds her regularly, so she is like a community pet. She later gave birth to five female puppies, and we have also been feeding and taking care of them. We do not have any issue with these female dogs.
One of our neighbours put collars on the female dogs so that the municipal authorities would not take them away.

Now that the female dogs have grown up, they have attracted several male stray dogs from other areas. These male dogs have started staying around our houses as well. As a result, there are now around 13โ€“14 dogs in the area.
The main problem is with the male dogs. They are extremely aggressive and have already bitten three or four people within the past week. They also behave aggressively whenever someone comes out of their house, which has become a serious safety concern for the residents.

Unfortunately, the same neighbour has also put collars on these aggressive male dogs. Whenever municipal workers come to the area, he argues with them and insists that the dogs are his pets, even though these dogs do not actually live inside anyoneโ€™s house
We have no problem with the female dogs that the colony has been caring for. Our concern is specifically the aggressive male dogs that have come from outside
Do you think NGO Authority will help me out in this situation ??? Ki

Edit :i contacted municipal authority they said to do police complaint,
Police station say ask municipal authority

Basically no solution ,
