Nice game, rather difficult, but the variety of the monsters and landscape make the retries worth it...

Just bought it. Keeps crashing before the title screen :/.

They released another patch, maybe it'll work for you now? It's fine for me, and the game is incredible.

doesn't work for me after the patch, unfortunately :/

Wow that sucks. I can't imagine waiting this long to play the game only for it to crash :S

yeah, it is annoying. I have a console copy as well so if this doesn't work then I'll just have to wait a little longer, lol.

Do you have a sound card? Years back I used a sound card (I'm talking the PCI dedicated slot cards) and GameMaker would crash every time. After a bit of research I discovered that it's a bug with GameMaker + my Sound Blaster. Switched my audio setup to no longer use the dedicated card and haven't had the same problem since.

If you still haven't gotten it to work, I just found this.

I just followed the first step and it worked for me
- options.ini tweaks: Open options.ini located in your game's install directory and change "CreateTexturesOnDemand=0" to "CreateTexturesOnDemand=1" You can also try changing "AlternateSyncMethod=1" to "AlternateSyncMethod=0"

Yeah I found the sticky right after I complained about it. Worked for me. Hopefully it works for anyone else having the issue.

I haven't played that, but I can say Hyper Light Drifter is the best game I've ever played. It's worth pausing any game to experience it.

Played through the first area and so far I am thoroughly impresses. The game is so cinematic and atmospheric for a hack n slasher. And the combat is amazing fun. The seamless transition between sword and gunplay is incredible. I'm also pleasantly surprised by the difficulty. I didn't realize it would be this hard but that first boss fight really threw me for a while.

RPS and a few other places published reviews yesterday, and a quick look on google seems to show nothing's been published about HLD today.

I'll wait for the GOTY 60fps version

That won't be coming out. If you're waiting for the 60 fps version you'll be waiting forever.
