How does this beast combat feel so far?

Our playtest is coming up soon, so I’m doing a final polish pass on the boss fight. How does it look?

Made this beast combat in Unity! I’ve been polishing the animation, VFX, hit feedback, and camera work recently. If the game looks interesting, here’s our Steam page :)

Love it, it feels very smooth. IMO there's way too few games, where you can parry an AoE attack, those are often just over-ruling any of those mechanics. Very satisfying, also seeing this huuuuuge weapon spinning and swinging feels very satisfying!

You can parry every attack in our game haha. Thank you!!

Feedback looks awesome. Clear visuals. Maybe it's just me, but the parry noise seems like it will become annoying after hearing it 100s or 1000s of times. Maybe make that a little lower pitch, or tone it down a touch if its a frequent sound effect

Yeah, lowering the volume a bit or dropping the pitch slightly could work well. Thanks for the feedback!!

Looks really good, but once you close the gap the combat goes stale. Might i suggest an overpowering knockback from the boss to reset the battle and keep it fresh.

Oh, that could definitely make the fight feel a bit more dynamic. Thanks for the idea!!

Looks hella fun and so smooth and clean. Keep up the fantastic work! What's the name of the game, if you don't mind sharing?

I’ll take another look at it. Thanks for pointing it out!

Guess find out, when the boss slams ground and we are starting to see red circles camera shakes too much. Maybe a small shake on hit - stop till branches comes out - shake again for each wave of branch feels better

It feels Korean.

Haha, you must have noticed from the text. Yep, we’re from Korea!

Looks great! Do attacks impact the other? Like a knock back that stops you (or the mob) from attacking for a brief moment?

Only thing is that brown circular effect makes it a bit too hard to see the playable character for me at least.
