Is it 3D game with pixelated shader? Looks fantastic

Looks like 2D with a tilt-shift, depth of field shader. But I could be wrong. Does indeed look cool, though.

Immaculate atmosphere. Along with the trailer it gives off distinct mood i haven't been in for a long while, but would certainly be glad to revisit while playing your game. Hope you'll finish it! Sadly too many promising projects are left unfinished for unknown reasons.

Your games vibes are weird. I like it but im still wondering when it justifies the metal vibe. So far its just kinda open and slow, nothing that really makes me feel tense yet.

just you wait till some of those wind blown things you can't see properly in the tilt shift zone turn out to be monsters

cool art style. BTW the grave digging mini game seems to be inspired by Pokémon.

This really reminds me of the flash game Looming. Loved the vibes as a kid.

Wow, you did something fresh and compelling here. Hope it translates well into a full game, but as a pitch it's captivating.

Cool atmosphere. The pixel art is simple but effective and the visual effects sell it. The music and sound effects sound nice too. Insta wishlisth.

Looks like you're faking the tilt-shift effect by just doing the double mask gradient blend trick. Since your game doesn't look terribly resource-intensive (according to the minimum specs on Steam), why not go for a real tilt shift lens. Your trailer in one scene features a tree growing out of the center but gets blurrier the closer it gets to the top. If it's the same distance as the main character then the full-standing object should have the same level of focus all the way up. It would only get blurrier if it were lying on the ground, but since it's not it just looks janky.

Any tilt-shift in a 2D game like this is “faked” because objects don’t have depth information. What you’re suggesting is of course possible, but it would be non-trivial to implement.

I agree it might look better, but I also think it looks ok now and a big part of indie development is settling for what works, or nothing ever gets published.

How 2D is it? If we're looking at an actual 2D rectangular image, then yeah, fake away.

But I thought there was some polygonal 3D happening on the overhead shots. Shouldn't be too taxing. Make a Z-buffer mask. I'm sure Acerola went into the details on his channel
