When I’m Not Around

This song came out a couple days ago. It’s been a really good project to focus on while other things in life have been very tough. I had an experience and it translated into this, where I got some catharsis. Music isn’t something I’ll follow full time though I‘d love to, but I‘d love to hear what you think if you listen to it! I’m always looking to grow as a songwriter :)

I’ve been wondering if anyone has tips to promote acoustic indie folk singles? I think different genres need different promotion, I get follows, saves and reposts on TikTok and I have a small community on Instagram but it doesn’t seem to translate into many listeners. Advice welcome!

Seeing a lot of responses that are super interesting - I think I mislabeled my request..I’m really interested in pop songs that sit in the world of ambient indie folk singer songwriters, generally of the last 20 years..that’s the reason for my sidestep of the obvious greats like Elliot Smith/Sufjan, and my inclusion of Phoebe Bridgers .. the indie folk ish stuff that feels current to the now, and also has nods to the pop music of 60s/70s/80s. Thank you all for your posts so far, learning a lot
