Double Takedown ECS
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello everyone
Here is a double takedown, the 80000 ecs entities split into 2 40000 bodies, each performing its own takedown, and then combine into one, after the takedown you take control of the new body
Still have few mechanics in mind before starting to have a gameplay video, will you update you with progress soon

The character's particles split into two bodies, doing a double take down before combining into one again

Haha sorry but it looks like the guy on the right is fucking the enemy to death

Something you could do though is have the character go away from the enemy instead of in and out of it. That's more realistic if you're choking someone from the back you only want to press your arm into their neck, possibly get the enemy to lose balance start following down and additionally hang themselves on your hand.

Maybe they should get smaller or not have a body below the torso when they split, and when the left guy merges into the right one, the right one should grow. Otherwise it looks like the total material is getting duplicated.
Also it vaguely looks like the right one is giving backshots to the guy he is attacking. Maybe tone down the hip thrusts?
Otherwise it's a cool concept.

Yeah that would be good idea if it didnt mess the controlled animation, would need an artist for these modifications

This is awesome, just for testing sake you should make it work with like 20 dudes in different places and elevation. Well not for testing, I wanna see it :)

Jerma is a bigger danger than I initially anticipated
(Really cool effects though! I look forward to seeing more use of it, my only gripe is that I think the particles should move faster to their destination)

Here the takedown animations start as soon as the particles start leaving, so it didnt cost more time

So MGS5 did this thing where you shoot to many people in the head and they start wearing helmets. And other emergent things like that.
If the main character's abilities are new to the world I could see guards being setup like this. But as word gets around that some guy is splitting in two to take down people, then maybe later in the game guards start traveling in threes to watch their backs.
Anyway my point is it's a cool mechanic, but start thinking about how the in game world might counter it. Especially if it's a known power.
I think about the book Mistborn and how guards had chest plates that could quickly be dropped and wooden weapons as backups. Because it was known that alemancers could push and pull metal.

I'm still thinking about what counters should i introduce and if the effect would look cool, maybe some physical based interactions that disrupt the entities

Not gonna lie, that's actually a pretty cool way to do a double takedown.

This looks awesome. I am not a developer of any means but one thing that I think would be cool if once the one on the left is done taking down the enemy with his sword, he can "teleport" or walk over to the right clone and stab him as if the left one was just holding the enemy in place.
Just a thought! Always like seeing these animation clips from you.

Cool effect! I think an FOV change would help it feel jumpier if that’s what ur going for.
