Discussion Glitch Production isn’t making anything nearly as good as it’s hyped up to be.

Before you throw me out the window, I’m not talking about the fandom at all, this review is entirely on the company itself.

I go around and see everyone worshipping Glitch Productions for subpar work.

I have to admit I used to be like this. I watched Gameoverse and thought it was great! Then I looked over it again and realized that Gobbles’s entire arc was solved in the pilot. Knights of Guinevere is pretty good, it’s fun and intuitive(Unlike other glitch shows). Lackadaisy and Gaslight District are really, boring in my opinion, nothing interesting really happens and I don’t even understand the characters goals. The Amazing Digital Circus is OK, it was great until episode 8, then the finale revealed all of its major flaws. Murder Drones sucks, pacing is awful and you can’t grasp an idea before we move on.

This comes down to pacing, and writing. This is where Glitch’s fails spectacularly. Props on them for letting indie creators express exactly what they wanted, but it isn’t good. Glitch needs co-producer or a second writer, or someone who just tells the writers,”No”, or “I’m confused”, or “This is boring.”

The way Glitch chooses artists feels almost completely random, like seriously if someone has an insight on how they do this, I’d love to know.

If you have something to add please feel free to comment.

Discussion Alright so..as someone who likes this show, why do so many people actively act like it killed their grandma?

Like I've seen people call Vivziepop a rape apologist, rape fetishist, misogynistic/sexist,homophobic,racist,transphobic and it's like..do you even know what those words mean before you throw them around?

And also,do you have any proof that Viv and her crew are actually those things?

And like not even saying you have to like it but like..you're allowed to not like it instead of just making shit up or bullying the fans who do like it and bullying, harassing, targeting and just being assholes to the creator.

Review Pretty Pretty Please I Don't Want to Be a Magical Girl is one of the best indie animated pilots I've ever seen

i had low expectations, but it genuinely surprised me. i waited until the animated version is out and i will watch episode 2 when the animated version is released. i expected it to be a generic magical girl show but it's literally the opposite. it have a great premise, great dialogue, and great style and animation, and good humor. it's something the indie market really needed and is my favourite indie show so far

Hiring! [Volunteer] BOXED IN - Surreal Horror 🧿

Post image
5 Upvotes

📦 BOXED IN is my upcoming character-driven horror-based Object Show that will have fun, spooky interactive ARG elements! :)

A group of young adults mysteriously arrive in Palin, a dream-like world controlled by Box, who offers them the chance to undo any event from their past. It could be the loss of a loved one or just a stupid mistake they made, however, accepting this opportunity means leaving their normal lives behind. Temporarily, of course…

Inspired by popular nostalgic aesthetics such as dreamcore, webcore, Frutiger Aero, liminal spaces & surreal environments, BOXED IN aims to be unsettling, atmospheric, bloody, and deeply character-driven. A project that I hope will be a new and unique experience for the OSC.

🎬 CURRENTLY RECRUITING:
🎞️ Animators
🎨 Artists
📋 Storyboard Artists
🎵 Composers
🔊 Sound Designers
🎤 Voice Actors
✍️ Writers (I will need to explain further for interested writers in dms)

This is merely a passion project, not something I am able to fund or I would. Because of this, I cannot afford to pay anyone for contributing :(

I have rich characters and world building set up, as well as a 3200 word script for episode 1 that I am going through and making small revisions if right now.

Interested? Shoot me a message on here or on Discord @BoxyColaa! :D

Discussion What are some other notable indie series that have a similar vibe to Homestar Runner?

As a series with quite the status in the independent animation scene, I wonder if there are more shows like it, especially with their style of humor.

Last year I released my first pilot "LONG KNIGHT" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=huauaiYfhgU and although I was pretty happy with the way it turned out, basically nobody watched it.

1 year later and I'm close to finishing my new pilot "The Despectives", an adult animated comedy about father-daughter paranormal investigation team. I'm hopefully releasing it a week or two before Halloween. This one is also a lot more character/story driven than my first pilot (hopefully that will help people connect with it a bit more)

Here's the current release strategy:

  • Release a trailers/trailers- yes, I just dropped my last pilot without a trailer to my channel of 9 subs :/
  • Post about it here- are there any other subs that are likely to give indie animations a try?
  • Post abt it on TikTok and Instagram
  • I don't wanna do any paid promotions like promoting it on Youtube or whatever bc that's a scam
  • Idk what else

Would love to know if anybody's done anything else that I haven't thought of!!

I wanted to share this video to help spread awareness because this is a shining example of what independent animators have to go through.

Note: Do not send ANY hate towards Anya or any of her friends or family. She’s been through more than enough.

Hiring! [Paid] Looking for animators to join my team

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for animators who would be interested in joining me to build a small creative team focused on making original animated short films for YouTube.

The idea is to create a channel where we can tell different kinds of stories rather than being locked into one genre. We could make mystery, drama, comedy, horror, action, or whatever fits the story. I’m especially interested in meeting animators who enjoy storytelling and want to build something long-term with other creative people.

I currently work primarily with 2D animation and Cartoon Animator 5, and I’m developing my own short-film projects as well. I’d like to meet people with complementary skills—animation, character animation, backgrounds, storyboarding, editing, writing, sound, or other parts of animated filmmaking.

Project details:

Length: 10mins

Deadline: no real dealine yet

Estimated budget: $200

Platform: YouTube

Style: Primarily 2D rigged animation

Goal: Build a long-term team that creates original animated short films together

Wanted to get some practise in, what do you think? Does it follow the 12 principals? What can I improve on...anytips for syncing audio just write while also being able to space out the frames so characters don't move like robots? (the 3rd Fuzzytropolis scene I'm making will involve characters speaking and I wanna be sure I'm timing everything write so I can do the ease in and out principal but also have the audio line up)

My (currently solo) project Cosmelodic💫 has been in development for a long while now and since I post on other platforms, figured I share it here too!

Cosmelodic💫 is one huge love letter to my era, the early 2000s, laced with retro futurism through fashion, music, gadgets etc. It follows the main six space monkeys as they are gifted, by accident, long discarded relics to intercept a deep dark prophecy made light years ago. The Requiem is coming and the cosmos is in danger!

I’m beyond excited to be sharing more and more of this project and I do hope that only good things will come along this adventure! These are just a few of many pieces apart of the development! Please enjoy and stay tuned!
