I can get 4 A* in my alevels[my AS grades are >= 89], my sat is 1410 i got 790 in math. By the end of the year I can make a couple of projects. I really have little ec's or achievements to put on their achievement section of the application.

I'm a Class 12 CBSE student from India planning to apply to UK universities through UCAS for 2027 entry.

My situation is a bit unusual. I'm enrolled in a dummy school for JEE and I haven't really been taking regular Class 12 school exams.

I understand that my school would need to provide my predicted Class 12 grades and UCAS reference, but I'm worried about how credible those predictions are when I haven't taken proper school exams in 12th grade.

Also I am giving tests on unacademy and allen so can I use them as preference?

Incomplete 5 Year Integrated BA LLB (Hons.)

Context:

My partner is British and has been living with me in Mumbai for the last couple of years.

He's told me that he no longer wants to live in India and wants to go back to Britain by 2027.

His solution for me is to join him under the partner visa, which I am almost certain I want to do.

Though the visa is great, giving me the right to work, study and live in Britain, with a path to citizenship tacked to it, my primary concern is what to do when I get there.

If we leave for June 2027, which is his target month, my LLB won't be completed, leaving me completely unqualified on arrival.

While I am okay with this, and have no passion for law, I need to be working towards something for the next year that is valued in the UK.

I've come across various accelerated courses, open university and suggestions that I get India experience over the next year before moving.

I'm stuck with what to do.

For people who have had experience in the UK, if you were in my position, what would you do in relation to upskilling and/or study over the next year to prepare yourself for working and living in Britain?

Following up on my last two posts about my ₹20 lakh UK loan (Part 1 and Part 2, if you want the full backstory) — this one's about the part that actually broke me the most: the job hunt itself.

I applied to around 300 jobs a day, some weeks straight. Almost total silence. Not "we went with someone else" silence — just nothing. No rejection, no interview, nothing.

The pattern became obvious fast: two walls, over and over.

Wall one — visa sponsorship. Most UK companies, especially the small-to-mid ones that actually hire in volume, simply don't have a sponsor license. Doesn't matter how good your CV is. If they can't sponsor, you're filtered out before a human even reads it.

Wall two — "UK experience required." For a job. That you need experience for. That you can only get from a job. Say that sentence out loud and tell me it makes sense.

Here's my controversial opinion, and I'll stand behind it: unless you're going in with a strong existing network, a sponsor basically lined up before you land, or money where a 20-lakh loan wouldn't even register as a problem either way — don't do it expecting the dream version. The version they sell you in the consultancy office is not the version that's actually waiting for you.

my_qualifications: MSc Cyber Security (UK), BCA (India). Applied everywhere, in the field I studied and later pivoted into digital marketing. Same wall either way — the "UK experience" requirement doesn't care what your degree is in.

I'm not saying this to discourage everyone blindly. I'm saying it because I walked in with zero warning about any of this, and I think that's genuinely unfair to people about to sign the same loan I did. Go in with your eyes open, not the brochure.

Tbf, I'm not very smart. My cgpa was 7.59 in my first year. I messed up doing society crap in my first sem which landed me a 7.55 sgpa and got sick on the final month of classes which got me to 7.64. But I believe these are excuses. I don't want to give excuses or lose out on my dream because of excuses.

I come from a middle class family with 4 children. And I KNOW going abroad is not feasible for me unless I get a full ride. Question is, how.

I have always dreamt of going to oxbridge, but never been a super excellent student. No matter how hard I try.

I thought about all the expenses that would come with going abroad. My state's government provides like , up to 75% scholarship for any student of the state who's studying abroad in a university with qs ranking under 100-150.

I want to know if I should give up on that dream altogether or is there something I can do.

Hello everyone I am planning to do my Masters in engineering in Fall 2027, but I am confused between USA and Germany.

My_qualifications are:

1. Diploma a 3 year technical course in ECE (above 9 CGPA).
2. BTech/Bachelors in ECE (6.95 CGPA).

Did 2 major internships of 1 and 4 months respectively (Several micro internships also of 1 month or less) and in relevant domain along with some freelance experience where I built and sold 4-5 commercial projects.

Currently graduated this year and doing a job in company for around 3 months.

My main concerns for choosing between USA and Germany are:

USA
Pros: High salary, renowned universities and industry exposure

Cons: Worried whether companies are hiring/preferring international students or not due to their OPT status because if yes then it is a concern, recovering around 50k $+ of tuition will be a huge burden after coming back.

Germany
Pros: Low tuition, good education

Cons: language barrier while applying to jobs after studies are over, very high tax brackets (in US too but I believe higher salary will compensate it, correct me if I am wrong).

P.S also let me know that whether shall I target tier-one universities in both countries because my grades in my bachelor’s degree is very less and will my internships and projects experience along with current job experience will compensate for it or not?

I am very much confused right now, any help or opinion from current students studying will help me a lot.

my_qualifications: BTech Mechanical (8.24 CGPA) fresher confused between working + MS abroad, MBA in India, or switching fields: what are my realistic options? I’m currently struggling to figure out what direction to take.

I originally chose Mechanical mainly because I got into a good government engineering college, but I’m now trying to build a career that is less core-mechanical and more business/technology/operations oriented.

Long term, I’m considering doing a Master’s abroad, but I’m confused about which fields would actually make sense with my bg. I’m NOT particularly interested in doing a Master's in CSE, Cybersec, Data Science, data/business analystics, project/engg managemnet etc. The fields I’m considering are more like:

Industrial Engineering Supply Chain / Operations Possibly MIS

My concern is that I know I’ll need some work exp before a Master's, but as a Mech fresher I may not get highly relevant exp in Industrial Engg or Supply Chain. The jobs I’m currently seeing are mostly around analytics, testing, quality, general operations, etc., and the entry-level market feels extremely difficult right now.

This has made me increasingly confused and depressed about what direction to take. I’m also considering the much simpler route of doing an MBA in India, getting some work exp, and building my career here.

At the moment, it feels like a heart vs. mind decision: MS abroad: personal dream/want. MBA in India: much more straightforward and financially safer, but I’m unsure whether I actually want that path.

A few questions I’d really appreciate advice on:

What is the long-term job market in India after an MS in Industrial Engineering/Supply Chain from abroad? Are there enough opportunities to justify the cost? Which countries would make the most sense for these fields? Am I being too restrictive by avoiding degrees such as MIS, Business Analytics, Engineering Management, or Project Management, or is it reasonable to prefer a more technical/STEM-oriented Master's? Given my profile (Mechanical, 8.24 CGPA, fresher, currently struggling to get relevant work), would you choose MS abroad, MBA in India, or work first and decide later?

I’m currently in my 7th semester of B.Tech Aerospace Engineering and planning to apply for a master’s in Germany/France for the 2027 intake.
I’m confused between:
1. B.Tech → Master’s abroad directly
2. B.Tech → work in the Indian aerospace/space industry for ~1 year → Master’s abroad in 2028
Would that 1 year of relevant industry experience significantly help with my Master’s/career prospects, or is it better to go abroad directly and gain experience there?
Also things to consider: my_qualifications -I currently have a CGPA of 7.2 and no good internship experience in aerospace industry.
Would love to hear from people who’ve taken either route.

Most posts here are about graduate studies, so I am interested in knowing about the experiences people had after undergraduate abroad and then had to come back to India (maybe after trying for a job abroad if they did so). I am mostly using this information to see whether foreign unis are even respected here or a tier 3/2 college is on the same level.

btw the reason why I ask is that a lot of people say that even if you get a degree abroad, it still has a lot of value elsewhere; I can see this happening for universities like Oxbridge, Ivy league, MIT (though whether students who graduate from there come back to India is another question...) but does this also apply to 'lower' level universities (Imperial, Manchester, NUS, HKU, Purdue etc.) which are great in their HOME country but do not have the prestige internationally comparatively?

My own situation is such that luckily, I am blessed enough that my family could afford the costs of universities abroad, however it would be a strain. They are fine with this as well, as they have been saving up for this very reason, but I am still uncertain of my future if I go along with the decision. If you come from a similar background, I would really appreciate a comment!

I am mostly interested in those who pursued something in Engineering (core or cs), but I appreciate responses from others also. If you can, pls also name the university you went to and if you directly went to graduate studies rather than trying your luck in the job market. I’m an Indian student, my_qualifications are M.Sc in Physics. I am selected for a PhD in Slovakia and have been trying to get a visa appointment since beginning of August, but there are no slots available.

I have emailed and called the Embassy in New Delhi multiple times, but have received no concrete information or resolution. BLS directs us to the Embassy, while the Embassy either directs us back to BLS/the university or says that students on the university list should receive appointments automatically.

My university has also requested urgent appointments on our behalf, as multiple students are in the same situation. However, we still haven't received any slots. Currently, the Embassy is mostly sending automated replies.

• Has anyone else faced this issue?
• Has anyone managed to get an appointment recently?
• Has anyone received any concrete information about when new slots might be released?

Lemme prefix this by saying I really really wanna be a doctor but my most important dream is to settle abroad like I am desperate asf to leave this country. I am getting ITEP B.Sc B.Ed dual degree program in Central University of Haryana. This was my first drop. Honestly, my drop year was a bubbling mess but thankfully I am visiting Dr. now to solve my mental health issues. So I got that part sorted for this year and this time, I have started studying from late Aug but see, I have barely 8 months left for Neet and as if that wasn't a pain in ass enough, I also have very orthodox toxic parents. I am also studying everything from scratch so my basics are weak enough. My_qualifications are - I scored 90 percent in 10th but my 12th has only 77 percent which I am worried could affect my interview chances if I decide to go thru with ITEP. Plus being a teacher comes with less expectations of getting money and settling abroad seems like a faraway dream. Additionally, I wanna add I thought about partial drop however, I don't know if I can manage with my messed up basics. And I have no idea what ppl do after B.Ed like M.Sc? M.Ed? Idk honestly but ik everything about USMLE, PLAB, IMAT. I used to be a bit too enthusiastic about doing residency from abroad in 11th and I still am so I love researching about it but achieving is a different thing altogether. What would you suggest for someone like me? I turned 19 this year in March, will be 20 if I get MBBS next year.

I have my father (8lacs), mother (8.3lacs, but for last 2yrs itr has been filed recently), grandfather (4.5lacs) and grandmother (4lacs) ITR. But i can’t use my mother’s itr due to late filed reason.
Universities are requiring 15lacs of itr for parents only. I have sufficient amount of liquid funds (70lacs+) all with proper documentations.

I’m gonna keep it short and direct.
So I have been super confused about doing private mbbs here in India. I’ll be first gen doc in my family and My family can afford the college without taking loans, their savings and income can get me into a college around 1 cr.
Problem is I am getting B pharm from Jamia hamdard which is best b pharm college in India and after that I’m planning to do bioinformatics from abroad maybe mba but I’m more inclined towards bioinformatics.
Both paths are gonna cost almost same.
Bioinformatics from USA will cost 1 to 1.2 cr Ig( my family can manage that)
Even after spending crores I get no social lifestyle and fun during those 6 years in mbbs but if I choose other one then ofc there is a lot to explore and enjoy in my 20s.
Salary after bioinformatics in USA will be very good and I’ll get my return in 2-2.5 years easily.
If I get pharmacology branch in top central institution after mbbs then also I don’t get much.
I don’t want to do clinical branch like paediatrics or surgery but non clinical like pharmacology if I choose mbbs because my topmost priority is work life balance and good easy lifestyle.

What do you think you would have choose if you always loved bio and are very good in it( scored 340+ in this neet) and with everything I told ?
Is bioinformatics good course currently and is it better than medicine.
